Hi All,

I am 5 days late for my already irregular period. We have been trying for a baby and I am anxious to start trying again since my HPT just came up negative. Does anyone have any information about when we can start the process again?
Thanks, I am so frustrated!

If you are irregular how do you know if your late? I am just curious I don't want to sound rude or anything. If your not pregnant then I would say you can start again at any time.

Well I am irregular and if anything I always write down when I get my period and when it ends, and it usually comes within 21 days, but I can get it twice within a month. The top person I would suggest seeing a doctor for something like that because they might have a bit more knowledge on when an irregular period is capable of trying again process. And the middle person, I hope I kind of helped to answer your question. Quote:

I am having similar symptoms.... i have cramps and lower back pain like im about to have my period. My nipples hurt slighly hurt like usual when my period is coming. I Usually get it every 21 days but today makes the 23rd. Tho i had sex more than 2 weeks ago, fully protected i am sure i am not pregnant. i have not had any pregnancy symptoms. However i did start a new job that requires me to work 10 hours a day right after i get out of class leaving me about 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night. Can somebody please help me. Whats wrong? i always check to see if bleeding has occured but theres none. Could i be jinxing or stressing myself. ?

Stressing yourself too much and change of schedule. Pretty sure you're not pregnant. Take a hpt and im positive it will help you sleep better :]

I have all the symptoms as well without the bleeding (emotional puffed mid-tummy light-back cramps). However, I am 51 and have not had a period in over two years. I dont recall having any menapausal symptoms other than no period for two years. I took a pregancy test this afternoon and it was negative. Well, actually the pink was light color and spread out a little but 8-10 min's later there was one single line-negative. Does it sound that there is a possibility that I'm pregnant?

Anyway i was going to say that ive been taking strong antibiotics to fight a tooth infection, ive been taking them for about 3 weeks now, im assuming thats whats causeing this. right?

oh and btw, im overweight and im assuming thats why i think that my stomach is getting bigger/ might be paranoid. :-)

Hey everyone. I've been having the same symptoms described on here along with a lot of pain so I did go to my doctor and they're testing me for a number of things which I hope will help people out on here.
Dizziness wise they want to see if I'm anaemic as I've had trouble with it before, so thats unrelated to the pain and strange symptoms. For the rest of it though can I recommend going to the doctors again for everyone? After describing all my symptoms to my doctor and trying to find out what was wrong, they suspect it could be 1 of 2 things. Either I have an ovarian cyst [the annoying kind that isn't meant to stay there but does grr] or kidney stones. Neither of these come as a shock to me because I've had them before but for everyone on here if you're having the symptoms you all appear to be having, please go to your doctor and at least ask if there's a possibility it could be either of these things. I didn't suggest it to them because I had no idea so it took them a long time to come to these conclusions, so consider this a heads up if you will. Both things may be a possibilty, please see your doctor.
Hope that helped.
Amy. xx

There are many many reasons for pms symptoms with no period.
Pregnancy-feels exactly like pms, you may even have spotting. Having a period while pregnant isnt unheard of either.
(YES you can get pregnant even if your boyfriend pulled out. Sperm is present the moment he gets excited. He has natural lubrication just like women to prepare for sex. And yes there are millions of little sperm in it. USE A CONDOM perferably with spermicide!)
STDS and Infections-anything aggrevating the uterus, kidneys, bladder can cause symptoms similar to pms.
Menopause-Even with a hysterectomy, women have been know to continue to "ovulate" and have symtoms of pms but no period.
Ovarian cysts, fibroids etc.-can produce symptoms of pms or pregnancy. (Not a positive result in hpt of course.)
Stess
Poor Diet- we all hear about horomones in food but any unbalanced diet reaks havoc on a womans body. All of our organs and glands are connected. Throw a kink in one and it will travel down the line. Too much meat and dairy and you can have an estogen imbalance. Some food like cabbage can slow down the thyroid which in turn can cause weight gain, headaches, a white discharge from breasts, irregular periods. Too much caffine makes you more responsive to stress. It also cause acidity in the body to increase and you can become more cystic or produce more cysts.
Thyroid problems-see above.
Horomone irregularity-have them checked by a doctor. Homorone imbalance usually caused by one or combination of the above. But it can be caused by something as simple as lack of adequate sleep.

We are finely tuned engine, ladies. And like every engine we need to keep out engines tuned for everything to run smoothly.

I forgot one more thing...probably the scariest but not as common as the above..
Ovarian cancer-Symptoms are just like ovarian cysts which can include bloating or swollen belly, cramping, contipation, gas, lower back pain, indigestion, nausea, lack of energy, pelvic pain, weight gain, increase feeling of having to pee.
(if you are past menopause any vaginal bleeding is abnormal and needs be checked by a doctor.)

Alot of causes have the same symptoms so check with your doctor. And dont be afraid to ask questions. Its your body and only you know when something is wrong.

some of what i read are/can be symptoms of pregnancy, but can also be signs of an oncoming period. anything that irritates the uterus can cause symptoms of pms/pregnancy as well.It is very confusing to tell which is which. however, with pregnancy you may cramp during implantation in which the embryo is burying itself into the lining of the uterus. this sometimes causes slight light bleeding. if you are pregnant, most women have the obvious symptoms such as tender breasts, the pain in this case would almost be unbearable, nausea, and increased urination. cramping ocurs but not for long. if you think something is up you should check with your doctor. also, if your sexually active and not on birth control, you may need to take more than one pregnancy test in that a hpt isnt always accurate and that is why doctors reccommend taking more than one unless u take the easy way out and get a blood test. hope i can help!

The reason why you are late on your period with a negative pregnancy test is probably because you are either overweight, underweight, stressed, on meds, or your body is adjusting to a routine change.

Most of the time, it is because of weight. If you are overweight, try losing weight. If you are underweight, try gaining weight.
