Two and a half years ago I had metal pins placed in the three middle toes of my right foot to keep my toes from excessive hammering. Prior to the operation my toes were somewhat bothersome, but only after a five mile run. My pediatrist recommended the operation, stating that after about six months I would be gaback to normal. Since the operation howewver, I have not been able to run regularly, and certainl not the distances I used to. My three toes do not lie flat, often ache, are somewhat annoying and irritating, and every night in bed I can sense the numbness of the ball of my foot. My question is, is there any way to reverse the damage and remove the pins? I feel this was not the right procedure for me, as I would much rather have the occasional pain of aching toes versus the daily & nightly pain of them now.
