I am currently suffering from persistent bleeding from the site of my first external hemorrhoid.
I am 33 years old male of east-Indian descent. Around 7 months ago, I developed my first hemorrhoid ever. I was prescribed hydrocortisone (cortisol) cream by the general physician. I was suffering from very sharp pains and extreme discomfort and probably used the cortisol cream a bit too liberally. I believe, as a result of that, the skin on top of the hemorrhoid became too thin and ruptured.
Subsequently, the wound from the original hemorrhoid (and subsequent rupture) site has been bleeding continuously as of the last 6 or so months.
I have tried the following methods to staunch and stem the bleeding (and to prevent spots on clothes):
1. Tuck pads (with witch hazel)
2. Tuck pads smeared with petroleum jelly (vaseline)
3. Tuck pads smeared with petroleum jelly and zinc oxide (A&D cream)
But, none of the above have helped in making any difference to my condition. My job does require sitting in a chair for long stretches of time and so I am hurting pretty bad right now.
I am considering some extreme measures like requesting a doctor to cauterize the open wound using liquid nitrogen or something.
Also, thinking about trying to apply a fomentation to the site with a mixture of powdered turmeric and warm mustard oil as that is supposed to be a home remedy used in India.
Please recommend a method to stop the persistent bleeding. Please help!!!

I'm no doctor but it seems like they would want to remove that through surgery?
Please, do not apply mustard oil preparation, it will BURN the delicate tissue. Until you see a doctor, I suggest you use DESETINE, it's a preparation for babies bottoms and has a greater percentage of zinc than the "zinc ointment" sold in farm Good luck!
Celia,
Thank you for the response.
To fill-in with some more information:
I have seen a general physician as well as a gastroenterologist. The colonoscopy came out OK. The GP did not recommend anything to stop the bleeding except surgery. Please note that I do not have a hemorrhoid at the site of the bleeding. It is only a wound that is taking a long time to heal due to the odd location.
All,
Do you believe that surgery is the only recommended course of action to help my condition?
Thank you in advance...
