I have no idea how to stop the clicking... BUT I figured out how to get some sleep!!!!!!!
Just play a rain or running water sound when you go to sleep. You can't tell between the clicking of the rain or your ear. If you're using your phone, you might want to get an app instead of using youtube all night, which might be hard on your phone and shorten it's life. I've use "rain rain" It's free and has a couple different sounds so you can find the one that works for you.
Sleep tight!

DUST MITES PEOPLE!!!!!!, I have had the same thing for years, my hearing is well, I do not have lice nor am I dirty, but after I launder all my clothes, bedding and wash my body and ear canal with ivory bar soap (no pretty soft soaps or nothing fancy that moisturizes) the clicking is gone for a couple of days. We people are super sensitive in our hearing PS: change of mattress, no carpet and I wash my mattress with a wash cloth soaked in bleach and water. I have even encased my box spring in plastic.

I have this "morse code", too! It's like maybe 8 'taps' total, mostly split into two sets..4..then 4..then its gone. Only happens when I'm relaxing or being normal.

Turn on a fan at night to mask the clicking, it works.

The quick hand trick literally just worked for me. Idk if it's a long term fix or not but it worked!
Just interlock your fingers and use the bottom of your palms to squeeze yours cheekbones (it says to apply a pressure of 2 pounds but I feel like to the point where it almost hurts will be good) for 30 seconds and the the tapping (almost heartbeat/morse code) sound goes away!

Don't be concerned. Since you are a frequent flyer you could just have fluid in your ear. That's why it kills you on your decent. And your doing more activity with your mouth/ears when on the phone, or eating breakfast. But since it's been 3 months, you should probably go to the doctor just to get a check up.

I have had the heartbeat sound in my ear for the third day now. It only lasts a few seconds but it gets stronger and stronger and then dissipates slowly. Each time I was sitting on the bed and ready to lay back and relax. Yesterday it was accompanied with a sinus headache. Kind of scary.

I am a beer drinker, have been all of my life and I'm now 74.
I have had tinnitus for many years, probably because I do a lot of clay pigeon shooting.
For the last few months I have noticed that after I have finished my second pint and have started on my third the clicking in my left ear starts up, fast like Morse code, thankfully with no pain at all.
It keeps on going until I wake up in the morning.
It won't stop me drinking beer but it seems kinda weird. I thought that I would try drinking three or four pints of water but I hate the stuff. Anyone got any suggestions?

i have exact same problems as this. deviated septum, and my eustachian tube (left) becomes blocked when i blow my nose. awful feeling, sounds like i'm really damaging my ears. i believe the clicking noise is the eustachian tube balancing out the liquids inside when i lay down on my left side

I've had the same thing, it's started about 2 months ago. It effects only the right ear and sounds exactly like Morse code. It's so frustrating , especially at night and wakes me up often. I've tried using mineral oil and polysporin drops but it didn't help. I was concerned it could be a little beetle or something but with the amount of mineral oil I used, anything living would have smothered or drowned. The sound is consistent....just like Morse code. Any ideas to get rid of this would be greatly appreciated.
