Hello, I hope that you might help me with some explanation. I am 30 years old and I have had an abortus. Intervention went and finished without any problems, but the trouble began shortly afterward. I have got a high temperature, and during the vaginal examination , uterus was painful and hypersensitive. Doctor told me that I have endometritis and that there is a possibility of a PID problem emerging. What did he mean by that?
When we say PID diseases, we think of cervicitis, endometritis, adnexitis and acute abdomen. The problem with PID conditions is a possibility of transferring infection from one organ to another. If endometritis is not treated, adnexitis occurs. We must isolate the cause, most commonly those are some bacteria, that could be eliminated with the use of antibiotics (cephalosporins and Metronidazol). Treatment must be energetic so that the infection would not spread.
