The doctor told me it was caused by my liver. He asked me to come in for a blood test when I got it again.
I did, but my liver profile was fine.
It use to last 2-3 days, now I have it for weeks.
I feel your hurt and I feel bad since I know what you are going through.
I am going to the Dr. next week, if I find anything out I will let you know.

I had what you had PLUS knee joint pain (which I noticed first) and awkward gait sensation, and leg lethargy. I aced my bloodwork as expected by the doctor simply because he though i looked so healthy; no inflammation, no lupus, no ms, no lyme, no syphllis (well I should hope not!). Only thing that came up was Vitamin D deficiency. But after another 8 months of subsiding but everpresent pins and needles etc., I read B12 deficiency could cause same. Almost instantly B12 relieved symptoms - mostly the lethargy and initially the pins and needles but still not 100% but that may be because i have discovered a secondary issue - high hamstring tendinopathy which may be more responsible for the balance of the pains. When I get health insurance again, I plan to get to the bottom of all, and most likely will end up getting acupuncture or chinese healing of some sort that everyone is recommending. Thankfully ehow suggested B12 deficiency as the culprit because doctors are apparently very ignorant of this possibility. SHOCKING what a difference B12 has made.

I had this bad habit of masterbating. One day after I masterbated and went to take shower and I started feeling week in a weird way (remember, I had been doing this for 6 years before this happened so I know how it feel after masterbating). I came out of the shower, not feeling physically week but had disrupted control of arm. I decided to relax so I laid down. After few minutes the whole body went into this phase of light feeling and I felt as if I have no control of my limbs. I could hear my heartbeats from inside in my head. And I was having huge problem swallowing anything. I decided to sleep. I slept well and woke up next morning with no change at all, same feeling and on top of that, I had a pins and needles throughout my body. I had a good breakfast and went to a a doc. Of course i did not tell her that it started when I masterbated. So she thought its because of my clogged ear receptacles. She gave me decongestants. I took it for 3 days and nothing changed, but on the 4th day, the feeling stopped completely and I felt great. No symptoms at all. After a month, I masterbated again at night and the same feeling instantly reappeared within half an hour of the act. I know how horribly the feeling could be so I was so tensed, but after around 4 hours the feeling disappeared and felt relaxed. I went to sleep happily only to find that I cannot sleep. For the next 5 days, I couldn't sleep at all. One day I thought I will die because my body was tired, my mind was hyper active. I could hear weird sensations in my brain and felt like had no control of limbs. I just can't explain the feeling, I had to call 911 at 5:00am but by the time the guys came the symptoms disappeared. I just can't control my desire to masterbate, and still do it every know and then. 2 days ago I did it again and I am going through this phase of not being able to sleep at all for the last 2 days. I have no job, and no insurance so I can't pay for the medical expenses and I have never been to a neurologist. Hoping to get a job soon and the first thing I ll do is find a good neurologist and talk to him about everything. I am recent college graduate

out of all the posts I have read on here, yours is the most closely related to the sensation and triggers that cause me to feel it. have you learned anything new on the subject. My uncle is a chiropractor and I used to get adjustments for free frequently but it has been awhile. It seems like it could have something to do with my nerves but like you said it usually only triggers when I get hot or when I sweat from working and my pores open up. any more knowledge on the subject would be amazing.

Not everyone on this board fits this diagnosis but most seem to, especially the younger folks, in particular saying going from cold to hot environment real quick, or nervousness or heightened emotions of any kind causes pin like pain and frantic itch, and that it hurts like heck doing exercise...but if you push through it with the same exercise, it seems to get less severe. That, my friends, is textbook cholinergic urticaria. google is your friend for lots of information on it. And I went thru so many useless doctor appts, and was even pointed toward a psychiatrist, being told it was all in my head, until I figured out what I had and later had it confirmed by an imunologist who knew his stuff. It's actually fairly common especially when you're young...and yet so many doctors are clueless.

Hello,
I find that this is my experience too. When I am active and sweat regularly..when I start exercising..at least for 3 or 4 times in a row... I don't have this problem for months. But when I stop...it like...builds up and it starts. The first few times that you exercise the pins and needles/itching will start and will continue untill you actually start to sweat. When I start to sweat the pins and needles sensation decreases significantly.
At the moment it has build up to such an extend..that I wake up at night and need to remove my blanket and take of my PJ's in order to cool of a bit. When I started some exercises...WOW it started itching in a way I haven't experienced yet.
I don't want to take anti-histamines (like citirizine) as I feel that not sweating enough is my problem.
But I will try the B12 and magnesium suggestion by others...I almost don't drink milk...so will pick that up again.
God willing you all wil get well!
Regards,
Mohamed.
