Hello. Don't give up. I went through nearly 3 years of pain and doctors who said it was in my head etc. Believe it or not, Hurricane Katrina saved my life because it flooded the hospital and we went to a different doctor who knew immediately what it was. I can't say it was happy news because it was a type of cancer, but they found it and started treating it before it killed me. My son and sister are both doctors and I can tell you they are not perfect. So keep asking and getting different opinions. If you don't think one "gets" it, then go to another. It isn't your fault they can't figure it out. Also, my daughter was born with a birth defect that came with lots of complications that stumped the doctors here. So I took her to the Mayo Clinic, whom I credit for saving her life. I went there also, but not for this. They are great so if you get crazy enough, go there. The biggest is in Rochester Minnesota. There are 3 more I think. Smaller. One is in Florida, one in Arizona and one other on the south eastern coast, I think. They surely helped my family.

I have this pins and needles senesations. I've realised over the past 10 years of it occuring that it only happens when the air temperature gets cooler. If the outside air is cold and I go walking, once I start heating up I get, what I can only describe as pins and needles all over my back and head, and lasts until i cool down.
Any ideas as to the cause and how I can overcome this issue as its realy getting me down!

Just as Bond007 has explained the weird feeling I have been experiencing the exact same symptoms. It came about around 5 years ago when I was 14/15 I am now 19 in a few days and it has only got worse. One of the main triggers are heat. No matter how thin my t-shirt is my body just seems to over heat... Once that happens I get a prickly sensation all over my back, chest, head, fingers and every other place you can think off! I've been to the doctors and I was simply told to have some anti-histamine and it would go away... But guess what? It's still there! I've also experience it when I feel like I am in a nervous situation when my body heats up in seconds and all the weird things start happening! I've always thought to myself it must be only me with this weird issue! Now that winter has come along I can't even wear a jacket! Sometimes it keeps me up at night and makes me feel really uncomfortable in public when I'm trying to scratch my body like a maniac! Has anyone found a way to treat this? If so I'd love to know because I can't go any longer! I am going to try the B12 vitamins and see if that works!

Can't say if adding my comment is redundant or not but I'm 22 and have had this thing going on since my early teenage years.
One thing I know for sure is that sudden changes in surrounding temperature trigger it. Scratching helps a bit but i'll have to try that cold water thing. I also sweat a lot when it happens. It can go on for a couple minutes usually around my scalp, neck and shoulders. Rarely it has even reached my chest and upper back.
I've lived a lot with anxiety and when i managed to eliminate anxiety the stinging had almost completely ceased.

Hello I have been having pins & needle sensations for almost 3 years. I also had extreme burning sensations. I have had blood work, urine test, nerve conductor test, MRI, CAT scan, and test for all the auto immune illnesses. They finally said its Anxiety and I was given Lorazepam. The symptoms instantly disappears. A week later it came back. That was 2 years ago. I must try B12 vitamins. Thanks.

Hi, I am 46 and have had the same symptoms as everyone else except mine cover my entire body usually !!! I accredited MY wonderful Fibromyalgia for this gift of extreme pain as well until My Dr. suggested a bloodtest for auto immune disorders because I am ALWAYS exhausted and severaly ill !!! 3 nights ago I learned while visiting the ER once again that I have an above High """MCH""" which means like others have said "I have anemia ? ( I havnt read about it or all in this LOOONG THREAD YET, but I intend on doing the vitamin B-12 shots A.S.A.P. !!! My daughter looked it up and that is what It said I NEED !!!
