The B12 vitamins have helped my pins and needles and also I had started to get a lot of sores on my tongue. I had a reaction to some antibiotics, and although the enlarged taste buds and sores have mostly diminished, they still stay with me. The B12 (the ones you dissolve under your tongue) and they have really helped those sores, although not completely knocked out either one.

Hey everyone Ive had the same problem for a month or two. I thought it was from eating a certain type of food. My whole back would just heat up and I'd get sharp pins and needles. However I think I have found something that works. I started wearing a clear quartz necklace and I no longer have the problem anymore. I'm not sure if the necklace really helped but after I started wearing it everyday the pins and itching have gone away and I can sleep in peace.

Hello there,

Paraesthesia (pins and needles0 is usually experienced when the blood supply to your nerves is blocked or restricted, which then prevents your nerves from sending important signals to the brain. The body then produces the paraesthesia sensation in your skin. It has very little to do with your age and if you still suffer from the sypmtoms then you need to see a Neurologist, not a dermatologist (unless ofcourse you have a skin condition).

I am now suffring from acute pins and needles nearly every day that is best described as an intense sensation of pins and needles that sends me into a short period of intense itching, scratching, burning feeling or like I just want to pull my skin skin off’ for relief. This often affects the entire body (commonly head, shoulders, chest, arms, legs and feet) and I am going to undergo some tests.

The problem is that pins and needles are commonly assicated with several conditions and is not regarded as a standalone disease/syndrome/condition in it's own right.

Pins and needles can be caused by a wide range of events and conditions, including:
• Pressure on nerves
• Reduced blood supply
• Nerve injury
• Hyperventilation or breathing excessively
• The effect of toxic substances/alcohol/lead on the nerves
• Certain medications
• Diabetes
• Anxiety
• Multiple sclerosis
• Allergies
• Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland)
• Transient Ischaemic attack (TIA)
• Stroke

Forgot what everyone has said, The pins and needles simply accure from not wrinking enough water... Sometimes I drink 4-5 litters of water and still get pins and needles all over my body... then the next day I drink 6-7 and I'm fine

I believe what you have is Cholinergic Urticaria. I have the same thing. Try taking an antihistamine like zyrtec. Also read up on the Wikipedia page. Also check out CholinergicUrticaria.net

Whatever allergy medication you take, make sure it has cetirizine as that is supposed to be a key ingredient in fighting this.

Good luck!

Folks , a very long story short , [bleach] ,was the cause to my problem,
Pins n needles would start in either thumb , move to half then full and up past wrists then move to feet at the same time...up legs , shoulder neck n back...also noticed ..timing in relation to movement delay, I would move my hand in front of me , then a split second later see it move. Sometimes, impossible ,almost ..like ..tripping on acid ..Or something ..
Anyway , bleach was the culprit ;)
Approx 4 days after using bleach to clean on a Sunday ..so Thursday approx this above happened to me every week.
Till I stopped using bleach .
End of ..dump the bleach !
I promised myself after suffering this and searching this blog for yrs ..to come here and to share ...dump the bleach ..

EVERYONE!! I found out what this is and I'm here to share. I had this feeling for sometime now and it's very painful at times I couldn't do anything! Went to alot of doctors I thought it had something to do with nerves and I could honestly say I thought my life was over. I finally ended up at allergy doctor and he diagnosed me in about 2 minutes easy. It's called Cholinergic Urticaria and it isn't major at all. So please look it up and go to a allergy doctor! God bless and get back to your old life!!
