I had a thrombosed hemorrhoid removed on Wednesday afternoon. Today, 4 days later, 2 of the knots from my dissolvable stitches came out. Is that too soon??? I had attempted a BM (too much pain) and I hopped in the bath - could the BM have made them come out or were they probably just ready??
I've never had stitches before so I have no idea. And of course it makes me that much more nervous to continue with my BM since I have 2 less stitches than I did before! ACK! I don't want to open the wound up. :-(

Depending upon the type of suture and the size, usually they last about a week before dissolving but 4 days is not uncommon either. It really depends on the environment that they're in.
Try to take it easy and don't strain. You should be OK.
If you notice a lot of blood or feel any tearing then see your doctor ASAP.

hi i had dissolvable stitches placed in my tongue on aug 18 and its now september 6 and they are still there how long should it be there before they disolve i can see the stitches sticking out of my tongue my email is ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed **
