Who did you have prescribe the baclofen? Family doctor? Urologist? Do you feel sluggish the next day or close your energy you had prior to getting SRPE?

thanks for sharing your experience,

I too have this condition due to taking PROPECIA. It's worse when I sleep on my side.

Eating rice in every evening meal has been the biggest help, not a cure but it really helps.

Thanks Mike for sharing just picked up on your line 'we are not crazy!'
That's reassuring to read as most people think it's some form of depression, which only adds to the frustration.

Hey guys. Been a while but I figured I'd give it two solid months before I started declaring success. In late June, I saw my urologist and he basically told me that they've done all they can do and the tests say whatever I'm going through isn't dangerous to the area. He told me to take 2 Advil PMs at bedtime. This did seem to reduce the events to an average of 2 per night. At about the same time, I started seeing a new chiropractor. After he evaluated my spinal X-rays, he suggested I begin treatment on his decompression machine and massage therapy on top of regular adjustments. I told him about the SRPE symptoms and he said that it makes sense. The discs in my lower back are severely compressed and that decompression will probably help this situation. At first I was skeptical, but I've now gone to 9 of these treatments and I haven't felt this good in a long time. My body feels great, I'm sleeping again and I'm experiencing no pain in the Johnson. I do still wake up with erections, but no pain. It does seem to have lost some sensation, but it's functioning correctly.

Guys, try the chiropractor with a decompression machine and let me know what you come up with. I'll keep you updated if anything changes for the worse.

Best of luck,

That's great news MJ. Although my erections aren't painful, I will make an appointment with a chiro and decompress. How often do you see your chiro?

Hi y'all. I'm going on a month and a half with no symptoms. I haven't experimented with any drug like baclofen. Just prayer and no masterbation I do see a chiropractor now and also get adjustments.

Today was the 10th time in ten weeks. Insurance will only pay for 2 more until next year though.

I just had a "Urethral Swab" which is basically a tube put into your urethra to get a sample for testing. Yes, it is as painful as it sounds :-(((  ... but they found something: a bacterial infection, "Ureaplasma urealyticum". I am now taking some special kind of antibiotics (Doxycyclin) and hope that I have finally found the reason of my ordeal. All the standard urinal test had been negative which is why nobody had tried this more invasive examination.

Did you have this examination too? Did they find anything? Perhaps it is worth a try.

I will keep you posted...

Djnov,

It makes sense that it would be due to a bacterial infection. I was having unprotected sex with multiple people before I started having unwanted erections at night. seriously, I hooked up with about 20 women that year before developing this condition. Ever since, I have also had extremely foamy urine, foam that does not go away. After it has sat in the stool for quit a while, it looks like if someone had spit in the stool. I will definetely test for this. Thank you!

Djnov,

By the way, I was also given doxycycline when it was discovered I had chlamydia, but it only treated the chlamydia. It didn't vanish the unwanted erections at night.

Mine started about 5 months after taking Propecia. Propecia/Finasteride destroys tissue in a healthy male prostate. This board is not the best place for this topic/thread. If we could start new threads and we had handles and the ability to communicate with one another we could get accurate counts of the what men think triggered their conditions. The problem is whenever you post links to other sites the mods here whack the posts. I'll restate that I think Finasteride and even SSRIs can trigger this problem.

I think it's related to Propecia too, but I took it for 10 years before getting symptoms. There does seem to be several people on this chat board that never took propecia.
