a “holy trainer” took care of it for me. The small flacid size. The weak attempt at an erection may wake you for a moment. I am humored by those attempts, then drift back to sleep.

A holy trainer helped me greatly. Flacid/small size so it can’t get any traction. You may be briefly awakened by the initial attempt, But I quickly drop off to sleep again.

Hello. I am an old time contributor to this chat group.

Just some new information. The onset of SRPE seemed loosely associated with me going on a SSRI Paxil (Paroxitine).

Recently I have diminished the dosage from 30mg to 5mg over a three month period or so and plan to go entirely off it in about two weeks. The SRPE events have declined a lot and it is possible it is associated with lowering the Paxil. Over the past four or five years, I regularly had three or four SRPE events (or even more) a night, but now it is one or none for a month or so. I am hoping I have found a way to greatly ameliorate the problem for me. Perhaps it is worth it for others to also try to reduce or entirely give up an SSRI (resorting to some other method to control depression or anxiety). For me, I am using low amounts of Klonopin on an as needed basis for anxiety.

maybe two years back I posted under the name Eugene. I have completely gone off the paroxetine (SSRI) now and have a single SRPE event per night or none, often none. It used to be 2 or 3, all the way up to 5 or 6 on very bad nights (each time requiring urination to end the event). So it has not entirely solved the problem, but it has greatly diminished the problem and hence the number of awakenings per night. I am surprised. I will check out the facebook site.

Hi fellas, how many on this forum have an uncircumcised penis? I'm asking because I had the surgery to remove the foreskin (I had phimosis) and it somehow eased the pain at night.

For me it happens only in bed. when I sleep on sofa, never happens.
I believe it's from a bit too much pressure on lower back but bum area of bed sags too much. So feels look blood gets a bit trapped too easily in groin.
I'm looking to buy a new mattress. One I have is pretty old with memory foam topper.
I also noticed is more intense when I drink coffee early in day. I switched to black tea and it's usually not as aggressively hard. May be caffeine sensitivity issue along with mattress support issue.
I also noticed it happened extremely bad when I took saw palmetto, that was a big trigger for it. So evaluate any herbal supplements, considering quitting them all for a few weeks to see if issue resolves.

I live with pelvic floor issues and I think you might be right. Try hitting those pelvic floor muscles Internally to release the tense muscles. I was poisoned by an antibiotic on top of this and have crazy sleep erections at times. So not sure if it medicine related or pelvic floor.

I encourage anyone reading this thread to consider whether they suffer from an overly tight pelvic floor. I have found the resources at pelvicpainhelp.org to be helpful.
