Hello, I had this and it was torture. I tried Baclofen for a time and it helped but eventually was able to stop. Around the time I weaned off of Baclofen I tried testosterone due to low libido (doesn't make sense, I know) and that seemed to reset something in my andrology and I am fine now. While it was happening it was pure torture though.

Hello, how long have you had it before trying testosterone? How many awakenings during this time? For how have you been fine with testosterone? By fine, do you mean no awakenings anymore?
Thx

Hi Guys, I'm struggling with SRPE now for around 12 years. Have tried so many things. I'm on a quest again and doing research. In a couple of posts a suggestion was made to a "Jock Strap". This is not sold in the country I'm living in and need to purchase this online, which I don't mind if it works/ helps. However, there are conflicting results and concerns. Questions:

Does anyone else tried the Jock Strap Method with or without success?
If with success, what is the logical reason behind it?
Won’t it do damage to the penis if you do get an erection or put a lot of stress on your penis and pelvic area if forced pressure is put on the penis not to erect?
I look forward to your input...

Hi Phil,
Do you still have success with the Jock Strap Method?
If still success, what is the logical reason behind it?

I have had Srpe for several years now after a trauma to area. Baclofen 15mg immediately before bed helps but as many noted only for about 4-5 hours. This is not surprising, that is how long the pill is effective. That in my view ks the problem of many on this thread !
Is anyone aware of a longer lasting baclofen?
I have been experimenting with two solutions
1. Take only part of baclofen dose when I go to sleep and the rest when I wake up for first time 2. Connecting to cpap machine when I wake up for first time - this eliminates the erection immediately by the way
Both of these definitely help but need to check this over time. I hope this may help others on this thread.

It is pretty unfortunate this forum is now closed. It is so important to those that suffer from SRPE.
I see the facebook forum - it is not growing i assume many are not comfortable answering questions and not being anonymous.
Can we please open it up again ? Is it a financial consideration ? There are still many ads here and the more people that use this forum the better. Thanks for your consideration.

Wow. I'd love to have 5 per night be the maximum for me. It's sometimes as many as 10-12.

Hi Starbucks, I'm in a similar position to yourself. I had to take testosterone for my adrenal insufficiency, ever since I've had srpe every night. Did you find anything that helped?
Thanks

I’m cured!

I read through most of the posts in this forum over the last few years. I had the same issue (SRPE), mid to late 30’s. In tried multiple things people here have posted about. Finally, I went to visit a local neurologist about it. He had never heard of it, but one recommendation was made. That recommendation had solved probably 90% of my issues. I had started taking a men’s daily vitamin a few years prior, and the recommendation was to stop taking it. I did so, and it took me a few weeks for my body to rid itself of excess, toxic levels of whatever vitamin I had excess levels of. Then, my issues subsided and I am back to normal. My suggestion: don’t take any supplements, vitamins, etc. unless told to do so by a doctor. The vitamin/supplement industry should be regulated IMO. After some research, I believe it was excess vitamin B6 levels, which can cause uncontrolled muscle movement. Pair that with REM sleep, and it nagged sense that SRPE could be caused by it. I’ll no doctor but I am pretty educated, and I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. :)

I am 56 but have been having this problem most of my life.... especially in the last 5 years though since I stopped taking anxiety meds. It has gotten to the point now where I just want to get some sleep. My wife has been through menopause and having sex is very inconvenient to her and in general her attitude is bad. I have grown bored of porn and tried a couple of devices. It is nearly impossible to get back to sleep. I try to distract myself but it soon comes back. The only time I can get back to sleep is right after I masturbate. I am not sure what to do. I am using a CPAP machine. Personally I think I am just really turned on and do not have a healthy natural outlet for it. It is like I wake up in the middle of the night ready to slay dragons... but the dragons are all extinct.
Pictures and videos of dragons are no where near the same... if anything I think they make it worse.
My recovery time was always fast which worked well when I was "active" but now it is just frustrating.
I can rub one out before bed but that does not matter...
Oh well... I have no idea what most men do once they no longer have a partner.
If anyone has any real help that would be great.
At least I am not alone. My wife really has no idea. She hates the fact that I masturbate and in general has become quite a prude in her old age. No sympathy for the devil I guess.
I have an idea what the solution is... but she would not like that even more.
So.. I find myself at an impasse.
Any solutions would be appreciated.... I've had this condition for a long time and tried everything.
I've gone months without masturbating only to suffer more.
Alcohol will calm me a bit.
Benzos work.. but they. are dangerous and not healthy.
I hate taking drugs.
The more I exercise the more I get erections too... it is like the healthier I am the more this problem happens.
I really do think it is just my body wanting to "hunt"
It is natural and I may just be a little more sensitive to activation than others.
I have ADHD to... so maybe that is related.
