Can you post the exercises? I have been doing pelvic exercises for 3 months now, with no effect at all on my SRPE.

Anyone else? I am asking because that's may be cause of this condition. Sleeping is not a cause, but the organism's relaxed condition is. Erections happens often before we get in sleep. This is mild form of PGAD which is more known at women. I know because i had that symptoms. Everyone would to do MRI of  lowerback spine,so we could possibly find a common cause of the symptoms... I apologise for my bad english :)

I've often felt this is like pgad myself but not sure of exact cause. Even if it is spine related how can it be treated?

I have played a role in this Steadyhealth group on SRPE over the years and have had SRPE for 5 years or so. It ain’t going away unless by surprise. Do not blame yourself. You did not bring this on yourself. One important thing I think all of us should try to do is learn to accept the condition, to lessen the anxiety. I have found that the SRPE events (persistent erections per night) are very variable. Last night only had one (I think), sometimes none (god bless those nights), and sometimes it’s more like three or possibly more. Urinate quick and get back to bed to get the erection down. There is a very good feeling when that erection is finally subsiding - I think you all can relate! :), so coast that good feeling to get back to sleep asap. Each night go to sleep a little earlier to help make up for the time and trips to the bathroom.

I wish everyone as much peace as possible, given this condition. You will survive with SRPE, and you will realize there are much worse things you could have. We are lucky we live in an age where we can learn that other men also have this condition and we are not alone - doctor's not understanding, close friends unable to relate makes you feel alone and not believed.

This is Elliott. I’ve been dealing with SRPE for about 18 months. Some details:
I’m 50
Stopped taking propecia 2 years ago after taking it for 10 years, I think the issue is directly related.
Go to sleep at 10, up at 2 and several times after most nights.
Have developed some gas, low in my abdominal area. Not a real problem but definitely new.
My primary physician sent me to an experienced urologist who had never heard of this issue. Gave me Sudafed which makes me jittery and unable to sleep so that’s a non starter.
Question: has anybody gone back on propecia to see if the SRPE would reverse itself? Thinking I may try that before trying Baclofen.
Thanks

Hey all,

quick question, is anyone here who has this issue, experiencing any tenderness in the genitals region? and/or do they feel any inclination of discomfort, or where the source of the problem is? I don't use FB, otherwise, I'd check in with you guys via the group on FB.

Also in regards to the post a few messages above by Elliot, interestingly enough I've been on finasteride for the past, 4-5 months now. Also interesting that you mentioned the development of some gas issues, do you feel there may be any correlation? Does the gas affect the erection issue or vice versa? Any patterns you've noticed in regards to this development?
