It just depends on when you ovulate, most do so about 2 weeks or so before their next period....So if you are only a week away before your next one, chances are you have already ovulated....Have intercourse all the way up till the next time he leaves, even while you are on your period, if you ovulate soon after your period you could have a better chance at concieving, since sperm can live inside a womens body anywhere from 3 to 7 days at the latest.....Wish you lots of Luck!!
