I had severe sciatica pain to the point of not being able to walk.  The pain and numbness was terrible.  I saw a surgeon after having an MRI and was told it was herniated and I needed surgery.  With the terrible pain I didn't ask any questions I just wanted to pain to go away.  I had an disectomy that failed in March of 2010.  I didn't get any better and had a second disectomy in May of 2010.  It still did not get better and I went to a different surgeon who said at this point I needed a fusion.  This was after having 3 MRI's.  I had the fusion surgery done in November 2010.  I have been doing pretty well up until the early fall of this year.  I always had some left over nerve pain and numbness in my right leg and that may never go away because I was pinched so long.  But now I am having some of the same type of pain and sensation in my left leg of sciatica again.  Would the fusion L4/L5 not having taken care of this part too?  I do not want to go thru all this stuff again.  Does anybody have any suggestions?
