Hello so glad I saw this, I fell at work 2/22/2011 ripped my rotator cuff over 50%. I had pt 6 times before they sent me to an ortho dr he also sent me to pt for 6 times. I had my surgery 06/1/2011 after surgery I had pt 3 times a week for 7 months. He sent me back to work 2 weeks after surgery. Im still having pain worse then what it was before my surgery. I to have pain in my neck down into my shouder and shoulder blade and down my arm, arm and fingers go numb also my back. Had carpal tunnel surgery 05/2/12 dr says it was related to my shoulder surgery. Also my ulnar nerve was damaged he says that the success rate of that being fixed is slim. Im still having the numbness and tingling. At rest my shoulder seems like it is pulling like it is coming apart. Also had bone spurs. I can not raise my arm with out it hurting and can not put it behind my back, yet he says that I am fine. Does anyone have any answers for me. Im getting very depressed.

anyway what I've got to say is to stay out until you feel right about going back to work because if you hurt yourself while on the job the
insurance may NOT pay for the additionall injury !!!! check with your
insurance and see what they say!! ramsez

hello all its been three months, i think since my second surgry on my shoulder thats makes two surgries i have had in 6months.the first one i got real sick after like the next day. i was out my mind with pain and a horriable staph infection on my chin.they gave something which almost killed my kidnies spent two weeks in two diffrent hospitals in the icu unit. in which i had to move my arm to help my self move around.i riped almost everything apart in the shoulder that was fixed. so after some pt my doctor decide i need more surgy(tx doc) i was thinking still in so much pain. mostly in my trycep area. i had doner bone in grafited into my bone and new screws added. i say it still hurts like hell and im not sure what too do. my doc doesnt seem too hear me when i tell im in pain he looks at me as in some druggy looking for the next score.im just hoping i dont have two have another surgry.i feel like i lost my arm even though its still there,u cant used till it heals the problem is life goes on.how do i stop and let it heal for months when i need to used the next day lol

my surgery was aug o7....7 months ago and I still wake up 2 - 3 times a night and can't sleep on back or that side. was told to wait for physical therapy for the first 5 weeks. next 4 months of PT didn't do much until I got a better Physical Therapist at Kaiser. She worked me and it started to get much better. Unfortunately they transferred her and now I feel like I am not making any progress. I am desperate to get better. I used to surf and now I can hardly paddle out to the line up. I was wondering if I should get a cortisone shot and a new physical therapist. It's 7 1/2 months and I am not healed. It hurts to hold the arm up for more than a couple of minutes. Also have a strange condition...my back cracks every move I make. Trying to do sit ups is rediculous...crack, crunch, crack.
Bless you. I hear your pain. This surgery for the torn rotator cuff has been a life changing experience for. I am 10 weeks post op with the last 3 weeks in pt. I was progressing with range of motion. The pain went from excruciating, at surgery to pain during recovery and more pain stretching for range of motion. It was bearable with the aid of serious pain meds. i tried to cut back on the meds but I now seem to have a pinched nerve in my shoulder and the pain is 7/24 to the max. Mediacl professionals in Calgary, Alberta, Canadado not want to acknowledge and treat the obvios which is pain. When I get thru this phase of recovery i can make whatever change is necassary in meds. Mariyangel please hang in. Youyr pain is real and there is no set time frame for recovery. you are not alone.

i understand you pain, had surgery early feb, still in therapy pain still exist and i was told 10 months before pain actually goes away, 1st motion comes, then the muscles regroup, then the pain is last, so you are not crazy, the pain is still an issue with me as well.
I would seriously take a bullet before I do another sugrery. The pain is real. The professionals look at me like I am a lier and a junkie because I am still in pain. Serious pain. So I am looking for other options. I dont know what those mite be.

i know what you mean about the pain, its been 11 months for me two doctors and 4 operations later and enough of oxycodone to put down a herd of elephants and i have just began not to hurt sp my advise to you is to use the MEDS and get more because you are going to bed one nite you are going to roll over and the pain is going to be as bad as the second day after the operation, sorry about being so blunt! ramsez
