Hi! I know that there is no cure for endometriosis, but there are ways to reduce the pain it causes, restore fertility, and shrink the size of the "lost" tissue, you can be treated with surgery and medicine to keep the endometriosis from getting worse and harming your future fertility. However, the best long-term treatment option is to remove the offending tissue if possible. If endometriosis is not found and treated, it can grow and damage the fallopian tubes and ovaries. This can make it more difficult to get pregnant. Some studies have shown that if endometriosis is found in teens and treated early, it does not tend to get worse over time. Managing endometriosis first and foremost involves pain relief. This is best done with aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and acetaminophen. The sooner you start taking them when you have pain, the more effective they are. If the pain is very severe, you may need a prescription-strength painkiller. I hope this will help you. Get well soon.

I was dianosed with Endo when I was 19 even though I know I had it way before but it took 4 years to find a doctor who would listen. I am now 27 and married with a 20 month baby boy. I was told that getting pregnant would always be difficult for me but I only tried for a few weeks and it happened and am now pregnant with my second. I had laproscopic surgery twice and found within 2 months the pain was back. The first one my uterus and left ovary were fused to my pelvis and had a large hemoragic cyst wrapped around my right one. The second one was the same but the recovery was worse and it came back with a vengence. I had heard that after child birth sometimes its subsides but I had pain the second my cycle started again but I just tried to remain grateful for my son and baby on the way and tried to live one day at a time. Endo is a difficult thing to have because the symptoms are so vast that people around you don't understand why you always feel a bit off and you start to feel bad even talking about it. Its easy to get down but do what you think is best for you and your situation and do not let anyone tell you that you "can't" do something! Your body will make that up for you.
