my husband has had a feeding tube in for several months because of a muscle disease, Inclusion Body Myostitis. It is a baloon tube and the problem is that the tube keeps getting pulled into his bile and this makes him very sick. I have to pull the tube out, which is very painfull, he says it is pulling his stomach and the pain goes from the stomach area into his back. His doctor doesn't seem concerned with this but we are, it can't be good for him. He has been hospitalized 2 times since it was inserted because I couldn't dislodge the tube and he vomited, therefore he got aspiration pneumonia. Does anyone know why this happens and how it can be prevented?
