Last April i was seen by 4 different dr's two which told me that i had an epididymal cyst and then in May i was seen by a Urologist who also told me i had a harm less mass on my epididymis that he said he wouldn't even be worried about if it was him. But no ultrasound was done on the area and i'm still have pains in that area off and on. Should i be worried about this or is this just to be expected ? Would having this cyst thing removed help at all ?
Because you're having pain you may want to have surgery. For this kind of cyst it's no big deal. It can be done under local anesthesia if you like. The cyst is removed and the area is sewn back using dissolving stitches. You'll have to stay in the hospital for a few hours, but that's all. If that's an option you'd like to explore, talk to your doctor.
I found a hard nodule I thought was on my testicle a few weeks ago and went to the urologist last week and it took him (once we found it) 2 seconds to say it was a cyst on my epididimys, nothing to worry about at all. Hasn't been painful at all. As he's finishing the paperwork (and I'm zipping up), he says we'll go ahead and get an ultasound. Got scheduled and learned it was going to be 500 bucks not counting the radiologist fee. I know it's dangerous to make medical decisions based on monetary reasons but this guy was so sure of what it was and the recommendation was half-hearted at best. The risk-benefit to having the US is not adding up to me. Am I missing something?
I have a pair of these (in addition to my original pair). From what I've been told, if it hurts a little thats pretty standard. Of course how much a "little" is is subjective considering the territory. Tumors meanwhile are usually painless. The ultrasound is a good test and is conclusive as all get out but is a bit messy with the gel and the shaving and really all told is worth every penny of the $500 now that I think about it.
There is another option. When I was first diagnosed, my original doctor had me take a blood test. Apparently it is possible to look for a tumor marker in the blood for what I imagine is a minimal fee. I suggest you look into it.
From what I've been able to find, these are pretty common in men over 40, but I'm only twenty nine. I'll keep looking out.

I am 26 yrs. I have painless epididymal cyst on my right testical from last 9 years, recently i have gone through with ultra sound test (dropped)and report shows as ---
Right epididymal -" 19 * 17 .5 mm no obvious thickening of body and tail, normal vascularity on colour droppler
epididymal cyst size 17* 14 mm
Lift epididymal size - 12 * 10 mm
No evidence of varicocele
minimal right hydrocele
i request your all to please let me know the treatment , and my main question is does it affect my sex life (can pain less epididymal cyst lead to infertility in future) or affect on my sperm counts.
Thanking in advance for your kind support
