I have been on effexor xr 3oo mlgs for many yes, been told it would take yes to ween me off of it or get hospitalized inpatient to get off them. Tried every booster only to gain weight and quit. Research anything new and where the trials stand. My eyes have gotten really bad, I am 62 and at first Last year they had to do laser because the pressure wS to much and now on the 5th of Oct 2021 I get my second eye done for cataracts. My eyes had gotten so bad I could no longer drive at night and the floating was getting so bad I couldn't even drive during the day.

This was the same for me. I started taking Effexor about 3 years ago after I had my 4th baby. And at first I had some blurred vision and then I had double vision. Then I started having a hard time seeing at night. I never really thought about
It because my vision has always been bad. But the final straw was when I finally couldn't see out
Of my left eye. I mean I could see "but everything was blurred and all I could see was light and color" only in my left eye. My right Eye was still blurry but I could still see definition . I went to the optimist. He couldn't adjust my sight with glasses I was seeing 20/500. He could sort of adjust my astigmatism in my right eye so it was clearer but my left eye was useless. He sent me to an ophthalmologist who couldn't figure out the reason and the ophthalmologist sent a refuels for an MRI. I couldn't get in for an MRI for over 6 months. (This is all this year I went to the optometrist starting in December) In the mean time sometime around February I changed Doctors. Mostly for other reasons and my anxiety had gotten worse. So my new Dr. Took me off Effexor and put me back in Setraline. Between February and now I have noticed my vision going back to mostly normal. Idk if that helps anyone but until I read this I thought it wasn't the meds now since all of you have had similar symptoms then maybe I'm not crazy.

I took effector for two months, Doctor prescribed 37.5 milligrams, three times a day. I started seeing people in my house trying to do harm to me. They had Sharp instruments coming after me. I was so afraid that I jumped out of bed. I went up stairs and they followed me. I was sweating profusely constantly through out the day. I started having visual problems, and focusing problems. My communication skills became very hard for me, I could not get out of mouth what I wanted to say. I could not drive a car because my peripheral vision was decreased. My anxiety and depression was at an all time high. I could not sleep because I was afraid, I would wake up there 5 to 10 people in my room, tying to scare me. I had to go back into the hospital to get me off this drug.I still experienced the same effects in the hospital. There were people in my room surrounding my bed. I thought I was having a total breakdown. After coming out the hospital I called my pharmacist about these drug effexor, she told that that thus drug is a dangerous drug, and the dosage I was taking was way to high for a person just starting on this drug. I my eyesight worsened I went to an ophthalmologist about my vision, bane performed two operations on my eyes that did not do anything, my vision got worse. I saw my family physician 5 times concerning my eyesight problems. I also voiced my concerns with my psychologist. I also voiced my problem with my eye physician. Eyesight has gotten worse. My focusing has gotten worse. My communication has still posed a major concern. I still get up many times from my sleep. I have a raving feelings in my body. I still have night sweats ANF problems with my balance. I get dizzy spells and have a great difficulty in reading anything. Glasses do not help! My life is at a very low point, and I am afraid everyday. My interactions with my family is not good since taking this drug effexor. In my opinion, I would not advise anyone to never start on this drug. In my opinion, a very dangerous DRUG.

I was given effector 108mg. a day it cause me to have hallucinations, tremors, cold sweats, in troll able shaking, constant fear, visual impairment. I went to an ophthalmologist, who wanted to do operations on my eyes. The operations never corrected my vision issues, brain fog, double vision, bluriness, peripheral vision, night blindness. This drug put me back in the hospital and had to be take off this drug. I still have not any improvement in my sight. This drug is a dangerous drug. Would not recommend it to anyone.  Jules
