Hi
I am currently waiting for my date to come through for my operation.
I have a fair sized cyst on my ovary, and I will be having a camera to investigate the state of my fallopian tubes, ovaries etc all at the same time, aswell as the cyst removal.
I am worried that there will be more damage and I will have to have my ovary or tube removed. We have been trying for a baby for over 2 years now with no success.
I just wondered if anyone else out there has been through a similar thing, and how long recovery will be before I will start feeling better.
We want to get back to trying as soon as we possibly can.
Any info would be appriciated

Thanks

Hi, I had an ovarian cyst removed it was an endometriosis related cyst and I had it done through a keyhole/laparoscopy type operation. My tubes were fine, everything else was fine it was just the cyst which they dealt with.

If they can do it through keyhole you will be sore for a few days after it, and possibly get pain in your shoulders as they blow your abdomen up with gas and it presses on nerves leading between your ovary and shoulder. I dont think cysts prevent you getting pregnant as such, some may interfere with the hormones and some types of cyst release hormones but whoever is doing the Op will be able to tell you all this and the results of what they find.

I was fine though after a few days of rest. It wasnt as bad as the c section I had four years ago.

Good Luck, try not to worry.

Is there any need to be worried about pain in the ovaries? In the same one that the cyst has been removed from.
