Hello all fellow sufferers. I am a 26yr old female that is starting recovery day 6. I to totally jinxed myself on day 1 and 2 saying this is nothing geesh I can handle this! Then day 3 came and I have been dying since. I have not been able to eat anything and I am barely getting the liquids I need. My biggest problem now is that my tongue is killing me. It is so hard for me to even get my mouth open enough to try to get some soup in but trying to swallow it is like torture. I am sleeping with the humidifier in my room but I seem to be having A LOT of mucus. I am spitting a lot of it up becuase if I don't, I am choking on it. (i know its pleasant) I have not thought about icing the outside of my neck but I am goingto try that becuase it is so tender to the touch. My dr did tell me to eat toast which I did my first couple days when I was able to eat. I am starting my 3rd bottle of liquid hydrocodone which is almost unbearable to drink because it is starting to feel like acid on my throat. The pharmacy said it can be diluted as long as you get the full amount but that just means I have more liquid to swallow---lose lose situation if u ask me. I think I am a pretty tough chick but this recovery is kicking my butt. I am waiting for the turn around day when things start getting better...I'll keep you posted when it comes. Good luck everyone and try to stay hydrated so we stay outta the hospital!!!
