often after sex my boyfriend has red marks on the head and shaft of his penis and red lines like cuts, they look very sore. during sex when he has these marks afterwards i feel a burning sensation and am left sore also. its as if we're having an allergic reaction to each other. is this possible? no other contact between us has this effect. my boyfriend has also been to the doctors and, because it is quick to fade the doctor couldnt diagnose. please help.

This happens penty of times with my boyfriend and mysekf. I brought this up with my gyno and she says that most likely i have an allergic reaction to his sperm and that his problem is that sometimes im not lubricated enough and therefore it is like having "dry" sex and the friction creates the sores on his penis. For me she recomended a yeast infection cream in the menatime and for him she said that Neosporin should do the trick. FOr future times if you notice that the problem could be that youre not "wet" enough then suggest to your partner using some type of lubricant or oil for that purpose. Hope that helps.

Ok, assuming neither of you has any genital piercings, it could be that one of you is allergc to the other's sperm, secretions, etc. There was recently an episode of Oprah where a wife was actually allergic to her husband's sperm. One solution is to wear a condom. Go to a doctor who is knowledgeable in this area.

I am having the same problem. I have been with this girl for almost 2 years and in the last 3 months i have been getting small lesions from under the rim to about half way down. Sometimes they disappear within a couple of hours and other times they take days to go away. I can say that we have normally taken a shower immediately after sex so that we can go to bed "sweat free", but for the last 3 months we have skipped the shower. So this could have been an issue for us all along. This is very annoying to both of us as we both plan to be together for the rest of our lives. I have always been slightly allergic to citric acid and have been thinking that maybe her acid levels are high. If this is the case we may be able to fix it because I've heard that women can manipulate their acid levels by following a certain diet. So those of you with this problem should try showering after sex so that her fluid doesn't have a chance to effect your skin. And if anyone has any ideas about the acid being an issue please reply.

That picture is exactly the same thing i have had since May this year including the small shiny raised edge of the penis head rim. I have been for all the std tests which came back negative. After sex or masturbation that area will become inflamed and small red spots and redness will appear and this will not go away on its own, i have been having a burning sensation when i urinate and also a persistent cough and noticed that i have been having some sort o skin reaction with my tattoos also which could be related. I tried every sort of cream and remedy out there but nothing worked. After a second visit my local clinic I was told that a had Balanitis by the doctor and was given a steroid cream Trimovate This cleared up the spots and redness within 24 hours but the small raised area is still there and this will flare up again now and then after sex, this could be a damaged part of my penis ( due to friction) which i am not giving sufficient time to heal properly and is more prone to getting infected or something else.. I have been at my wits end with worry about this and was told that this cream is not to be used long term due to side effects and the thought of giving up sexual activity at 46 is nightmare stuff any help or suggestions would be appreciated

I think I have what you all are describing. I have been very worried for a long time about this. I have come to one conclusion. Even though we repeatedly test negative for HSV 1-2 there is indeed a herpes simplex virus involved in this condition. Yeast may also be present. I am on a crusade now to figure out what causes this condition, because as previously stated in this post, something is not right. I too developed some sort of skin reaction to this on my arms and back as well. Since getting this, I have also been plagued by bacterial infections of the skin as well as chronic muscle twitches and leg pain. I became very ill after acquiring this. If you want my two cents, this is a viral disease caused by an interaction between a defective HTLV-1 and a herpes simplex virus, but who am I to make such a bold statement? We do not know about these things yet. PS: People with this will test negative for both of the two aforementioned diseases. I am working with my doctors to figure out what the culprit is here. I will keep you posted. Could the original poster please repost the original picture?

Any new information. I have the EXACT same condition and it looks the same as the pic. I have been faithful to my wife and she has no symptoms of any kind. We have been together for 8 years and this appeared about 6 months ago. It fades to nothing then returns. Good hygiene helps as well as cortaid cream. I even was my penis with rubbing alcohol once in a while to keep it clean. Also, I blow dry it after each shower. Any other advise or anything? Please help! What do you think about red marine algae if it is viral?

It is called canesten and it starts working right away. its an anti fungus cream and is the same thing you use for athletes foot or jock itch. Ive been useing it for 5 days and everything is going away. i am still having sex and masturbating normally... the cream is working wonders. my advise is if your having any doubts just man up go to your doctor and get it resolved. this sh*t works and will have u back to normal.

that is true. Any anti fungal creams should do the trick but my doctor recommended Caneston for me and worked like a charm. The cream is not prescribed and can be purchased over the counter. If the swellling, cuts, soreness and lesions are bad and very irritating, ask your doctor to prescribe Celestone. The cream contains 'Betamethasone'. If you do a google search on it, you'll find that it is an anti-fungal and anti swelling cream. Because it must be prescribed to purchase, it is stronger and will work faster. I'd recommend that everyone with this problem use lubricant when masturbating and having sex. It reduces the friction between your hands and penis or penis and vagina, putting less pressure on your and your partner's skin.
