I had dealt with this back in 2009 and went to a Hemotoligst and had extra blood work done and no bone marrow biopsy was necessary. The doctor only asked me to checking on it 6 months to a year later. Needless to say life went on and I forgot about it. I became ill with a minor gasteritis and had another CT scan done. It has been almost 4 years to the day. The CT Scan reads as follows:
Diffuse abnormality of the skeletal system: This suggests marrow abnormality, this appearence is compatible with an underlying process involving the marrow, this can be seen with disease processes such as Leukemia , thalassemia or spherocytosis. Clinical correlation as to the underlying etiology is receommended. Therefore, the adenopathy within the retroperitoneal space may represent extramedullary hematopoiesis.
WHEN COMPARING THIS TO THE PREVIOUS CT SCAN OF 12/03/2009 THERE IS NO CHANGE IN THE RETROPERITONEAL ADENOPATHYOR THE SKELETAL CHANGES.
Other things to mention all of my CBC and other labs have been normal for the last 4 years. Everything in normal range and have had no weird symptoms. I am going to be seeing a hemotologist. Just wanted some opinions as to what my chances of Leukemia or cancer are. Any help is greatly appreciated.
