My friend needs to have treatment with immunosuppressives. She has certain disease that I don’t know exactly what it’s called but certainly I know that she will start to get immunosuppressives. I want to know what are the risks of taking immunosuppressives? I heard that it may be dangerous sometimes.
Treatment with immunosuppressives can predispose patients to bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Because of that patients taking immunosuppressant medications are at risk for numerous complications. Also I know that patients taking immunosuppressives after transplantation have an increased risk of developing cancer. Somethimes people who take immunosuppressants may develop inflammation of the pancreas some months after starting these drugs.
