Hi,

Roughly 5 years ago I got beaten up pretty badly, mainly around the face. Most of it healed well but I was left with what I found out to be a lump of scar tissue in my upper lip on the left side. The problem being that it does still cause me some discomfort. The actual lump isn't too big but it does rub against my teeth. In terms of physical appearance, it doesnt look too bad, it just looks a bit swollen really.

Ideally I'd like to get the scar tissue removed but I've been told there is a possibility of making it worse. One things that i'd note is that when this happened I had stitches where the scar tissue is now and being young I was restless and wouldnt leave my stitches alone which no doubt wouldnt of helped.

Any info on the matter would be appreciated.

I have some scar tissue/salivary glands on the left side of my upper lip. I saw an oral surgeon and am getting it removed. I would maybe get a second opinion. My doctor said that he wasnt going to remove all of it because if he removes too much theres no going back, which makes sense. Good luck.
