thanks to all who had the nerve to deal with a scrotum cyst themselves I Am in a remote area of Alaska and had no choice but to operate myself with a fish hook I straightened and steralized I penetrated the cyst and drained it,then covered it with a triple antibiotic and a burn dressing because it was still draining, cyst is now getting smaller but I have to do this procedure every day, along with boiling the pus out with peroxide the initial pain of drainage entry was not TOO bad. o.O

I also have quite a bit, probably 20-60 depending on how much time I spend trying to get rid of them. I've been to three doctors, all have said something similar "Most men have some, you have more than most. We can have them surgically removed, but it won't get rid of all of them and they'll probably just come back". I've had them since I was an early teenager and am now 29 and still have a quite a bit. I've been through many relationships and have always been embarassed about it, always trying to hide my scrotum from women with some luck. They aren't consistent, from what I can tell, there are a few different varieties of them, some are hard and whitish yellow that can usually be popped with a needle or squeezing hard. Others are filled with blood or grey slime, possibly these are infected, but they appear even if I haven't touched them for months. My concern is even if we can get rid of some, that they'll just continue to come back regardless of how clean they are.

I have has cysts for a couple years now and what i was told to do by my physician was to apply a numbing agent to the cyst and then take a pin or very sharp knife (x-acto knives work perfectly) and make a small cut or hole in the top. After the hole is made, treat it as if it were a pimple, squeeze, and continue squeezing until all the white mucus is out. There will be some bleeding, my bleeding stops within 3 mins every time. After i discovered this the cysts have not come back in the same location.

remove them yourself, I use a small razor blade to score the skin, the cyst will pop out like a balloon if you are very careful, and apply pressure from behind. do not rupture the cyst, and wiggle and turn it till the base its removed.

I have had massive amounts of scrotal cysts going back to when I was 12 years old. I have since become a master of self surgery, and its not that hard. Honestly if you catch them early enough when they are pea sized or less they are easy to remove, and do not leave much if any scars when healed.

hi, im 16, not sexually active but have recently found a small lump on my scrotum, it sticks out a little bit, and i can get my fingers in between it. it is accompanied with itchiness, and is a little red. it also seems to be where the hairs come out, you know like those tiny little pimple things on the rest of the scrotum. im a really anxious person and worry alot, so as you can imagine im worrying ALOT about this. i dont know if i can pluck up the courage to tell anyone. could this be a cyst? thanks alot

It is definitely a cyst, it is exactly what we all have. Fortunately, you just have one. If you can handle a little pain, do the pin technique described in numerous posts above. If not, just deal with it - it won't go away but it might just pop on its own if it gets big and irritated enough.

Or, go to your doctor. It's not an STD so don't worry, but it will be awfully hard when you try to get with your first girl to explain what it is.

This problem is pretty much the worst when you are trying to become sexually active, because if you don't explain it ahead of time, it will abruptly end any sexual experience you may be trying to have (when she sees it). And the worst part is, when you explain it ahead of time, it usually just scares a girl away. Pretty much the worst position to be in, and with no real cure it leaves you with the only real plausible treatment of "do it yourself" removal.

I'm curious if anyone knows if soaking your scrotum in salt water actually does raise the cysts closer to the surface. This would greatly aid in removal if I could get to the sac as close to the surface as possible.

A few days ago I gave a failed attempt to excise one of the smaller cysts I have. I used small safety pin which I used in a scraping motion to slice the skin open. I was bleeding throughout the procedure, but it wasn't overwhelming - a paper towel at my disposal did the trick. When I got to what I believe was the sac, I made a few attempts to remove it by using the rolling motion mentioned earlier, however the thing was not moving. The blood was acting as a lubricant when I'd try to pinch it out, so I could not get a good grip. I would consistently dry the area with the paper towel and make another attempt to no avail. I didn't want to become too careless with the safety pin because I did not want to rupture the sac. So I ended up deeming the procedure a failure.

This time around I will use an actualy exacto knife to make a clean slice and a new pair of needle tweezers to assist in grappling the cyst.

I am 17 and I have about 4mm hard kind of "rock" in my scrotum's skin. It's right inside the skin of scrotum.

It's not painful or ithcing. It's not bothering me, but I would like to get rid of it!

It's there for 2 months or so.

PLS HELP!!!!

I also have small cysts ranging from 3mm -> 1.5cm.

GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!

In all honesty, I didn't go see the doctor for, initially, embarrasement, then purely worry at what it might be.

Within a few seconds of him inspecting it (the largest cyst) he was able to tell me what it was, and asure me it is rather common, and the procedure involved in removing it. I was able to book an apoinment 2 weeks later to have it removed. No pain what so ever under local anaesthetic, and he was done in less than 20mins.

Trust me, you feel rather stupid after actually building up the guts to go to the doctors only for him to tell you instantly what it is, even more of an id**t when it takes only a few minutes to remove.

I wouldn't recommend trying to remove them yourself, you run the risk of getting it infected, and it can be difficult to remove after infection.

phew, that was hard reading, all you 'self surgens' must have balls of steel to do it yourself!

I too have this problem and have had them since 2002 and over the years they have become worse. I went to the doctors last year to see what he could do, he said that it was common and had nothing to do with how clean you are, also as said before it can be removed surgically, but I chickened out as I didn't want said doctor going near my balls with a sharp object lol.

On a safe note, he sent me for an ultra-sound to double check that nothing was canerous and fortunatley it was not.

Living in England, we have free health care and I am thinking about getting them proffessionally removed but I think I will see a dermatologist before hand. Im gonna try an alternative before going under the knife!!
