Hey guys, I read the first page and if you are here now reading this because you have these pustulations, see a doc. Yeah, I started getting them when I was about 16; talk about awkward!! About 15 years later I was in the service when got up the nerve to ask my team Medic about them. He said he had them too and didn't know what they were. By that time I was so sick of it that we both went to the hospital (he came to watch and learn). The staff treated me like some anomaly but all five of them came to the conclussion of cutting them out. They shot me up with a local anesthetic and then each doc (including my Medic) took a turn cutting one out and then suturing the cut. In the past 15 years since, I have several more large ones that have shown up but, I just don't care anymore. They are definately benign and the substance stinks to high heaven, especially when it is a true pustual and the excretion is almost yellow. Yeah, it's disgusting, not something you want to show off. So, if you're still single and pursuing a gal, see an epideral doc to get them taken out. A one time out-patient visit shouldn't take more than an hour to have ten or so removed and, whne you're young and single, it's 150 bucks well spent. As they appear again while married, it may present a display of your bride's true self as you teach her about it.
Good fortune.
Good fortune.

i to share in this embarassing condition. they first started appearing in my early teens, around 13-14 i think. i was rather embarassed about them and managed to hide them from girls for many years, although my sex life did suffer from doin so. i am now 24 and a couple of years ago a girl i was with saw them said something along the lines of "oh my god you have warts" and promptly left. i was sure they were not warts since they started appearing before i had ever had sex.
after sometime i summoned up the confidence (and had enough beers) to go and see the doctor who referred me to a dermetologist. he confirmed what i suspected from online research that they were epidermoid cysts. he also told me that with the amount i have (at a guess i would say easily above 50) it would take quite a few trips to get them all out and chances are more will grow.
well spending all that money to just have more grow dosnt sound a very attractive prospect to me so after a little while i had finally had enough and started taking them out myself. i have only taken about 6 out so far and my technique isnt very refined as yet. i am so sick of these things that i went for what seemed like the best tools around at the time which were a very sharp compass (the kind you use to draw circles on paper) and a small pair of sidecutters (wire cutters). using the compass to break the skin around the cyst and then the sidecutters to cut underneath it and remove it whole and afterwards spraying with 99% isopropyl alcohol and to kill any germs and covering with a band aid to stop the bleeding.
to anyone that has these i would recommend having a go at taking them out yourself. its really not very painful (although the isopropyl stings like hell for a few seconds lol).
thankyou to everyone that has posted here, it makes me feel alot better to know this condition is actually quite common. ill definately have to give the knife / rolling method a go as it sounds like the wound would be alot smaller than my method, but i was totally at my wits end and extremely frustrated.
thanks again and good luck to all of you.

First off, sorry for bringing an old post back to life. However, I also share this problem, and I am desperately looking for a cure. I've seen a few Urologists throughout the years and, needless to say, they were all fairly shocked when they saw me. They all basically said the same thing: Surgery. I still have yet to go through with it, though. The reason being, as with many others here, they cover nearly my entire scrotum. And if I went through wih the surgery, well, I'd have no balls left. Thus, for over 10 years I've been trying to find anything that would help. I'm making this post here to see if anyone has any new informtion or ideas that they can share to assist with this problem.
For example: Is the boil ease that was mentioned above really safe to use? I've actually drained some, but I never knew if that was ok to do. Also, it seemed that they just come back . . . or I just continue to get more. Anyway, thanks for any information

Wow, thanks so much for everyone's input. I had 1 scrotum cyst on my sack and i thought there was something seriously wrong with me. I had had it for about a year and it was gradually getting bigger. It started out real small and was just annoying then got to the size of about a pea. I did the home remedy thing. I used a pair of toe nail clippers to break the top layer of skin. I then tried using some tweasers to pull out the cyst but it was too big and too much blood to get a good grasp on it. I then used the toe nail clippers to just cut/pull it out in bits. It feels so good just not having that bothersome little guy down there anymore. I just took it out and i can already feel a big difference. It doesn't hurt pulling it out, i think the biggest pain was breaking the top layer of skin, but it wasn't too painful. Anyways, that little b****r is out now and thanks to all of you who put your input in, i really appreciate knowing that it wasn't anything serious.

when you say you cut it out what does it look like, as i have 100 and 5 bigger ones know, and when i can get the courage i just stick a pin in to it and then i squeeze it all out is there something still underneath the skin and is there somthing i can put on my balls that would num them so there is no pain as i wont to do all off them at once can some one please tell me thanks

well i just tried the needle tactic, i've got two bigger ones, about pea size, probably smaller, and two others about a quarter or half the size of the bigger ones. i used the needle on one of the bigger ones, and it popped like a zit, i squeezed at it for about 10-15 minutes til all the white pus-like stuff was came out. but no luck with the seed thing you guys are talking about. i mean i can feel it in there bit the holes weren't big enough to squeeze it out. the only pain is the sticking of the needle into the top layer of skin which only hurts for a split second, if you cant handle that, WOW. anyway would any of you suggest widening the hole the next time to get the little b****r out, or seek professional help?
thanks for all your posts, they've been a huge help

Hey guys. here's my experience with scrotum cysts you may be interested in.
I've had the same things since i was 13-14, by the time I was 20 I had heaps of small and few big ones all over my scrotum. I finally got the courage to see a doc, and he go me onto a dermatologist. I had to get knocked out to get a cyst removed from my wrist so the dermatologist also removed some of the cysts. Instead of individually removing each cysts, he cut of clumps of skin/cysts at the same time.
The scrotum looked great for a while but sure enough months later they started to grow back. Anyway around the same time I had been visiting the Dr Walt Stoll online doctor forums and he thinks Omega 3 fatty acid tablets every day will eventually dissolve the excess oils from the cysts and dissapear. I have been taking the omega 3 constantly for a few months along with hard scrubbing in the shower every morning, and I do believe there was a period of time where the cysts stop growing. However unfortunately I was on and off with the vitamins and sometimes I still get outbreaks.
I am still trying to stick to the omega 3 + scrubbing plan and hope in the next year or so they will slowly go away. I also sometimes remove some of the larger one myself using numbing cream called Emla Cream I got from Ebay (deadens the skin) and just ripping the bastard out with a knife and tweezers.
Eventually if they don't go away I will probably opt for day surgery again. That's my 2 cents keep up the hope lads.

I am 27 and have them as well. I had about 5 large ones some taken out by doctors a few by me. I aslo have about 30 smaller ones that I have not messed with. thankfully they are not very obvious. I recently took some out my self with minimal scars and pain. I wish I knew how common these are but have not found an answer after lots of research. Also I don't know how these calcifications become calcified but was wondering wether or not to stay away from calcium it self(milk, dairy) or if that mattered. going to try the omega 3 because it does help skin regardless and keep an eye on them.

Be careful with scrotal surgery. I had a "routine procedure to remove skin cyst from scrotum, but ended up that the doctor was inexperienced took 1 hour to remove one small cyst by cutting it out and cauterized too much. 4 years later, I have dull pain from the area. So be careful... It is really annoying and is on the right side of me body the side of the surgery.
'
Don't know to this day what it is, but surgery was definitely botched. One person told me it could be due to nerve endings being screwed up or how he stitched me up. oes anyone have any ideas? Desperate

Wow. Good to know that I'm not alone in this. I just wish we had a solution of some sort.
I'm 27, and I've had these cysts from my early-mid teens. One day I was watching MTV, and saw a commercial about getting yourself tested for genital warts and just about freaked out because that possibility never occurred to me. I had a girlfriend at the time, and we were starting to get close to sex, so I went to planned parenthood to get them checked out. Man, was I relived that they weren't warts. The relief that I didn't have an STD kept me for happy for a long time. I just kind of ignored them. I started dating another girl when I was 18, and we started having sex, but she either never noticed them, or just ignored them. I was lucky in that regard. We got married when I was 20, and since they didn't bother my wife, I didn't think about them too much.
Occasionally I would pop one, or remove the entire un-ruptured cyst (it seems strange that something like that can grow under your skin, right?), but I had so many cysts covering the majority of my scrotum, that any tactic I could take seemed futile. I started getting annual physical exams a few years ago, and my doctor was surprised by how many I had on my scrotum, but said that they are called "something-medical-sounding cysts" and that not much is known about them, or even why they were limited to the scrotum. She said she could refer me to a dermatologist, but that was about all.
Since then, I haven't pursued any treatment. My wife and I are getting a divorce, and I am slightly nervous about starting new relationships and the potential rejection, but I have realized something that I want all of you to understand:
IF THE PERSON YOU ARE WITH IS WORTH THEIR SALT, THEY WONT CARE ABOUT LITTLE WHITE BUMPS ON YOUR SCROTUM.
People that matter will take the time to find out the facts about this (or any) situation. People that don't take the time aren't worth your time.
Its a difficult lesson to learn, and just because you have learned it (or are learning it) doesn't mean you won't feel pain if you are rejected. Rejection will happen. It is part of life. Accept that you will feel some pain, and move forward anyway. As a person that is going through a divorce, take my word for it - there are plenty of things in life that are going to hurt. Don't let some stupid little white bumps be your downfall. People have overcome worse.
*steps down from the soapbox*
Ok, so lets talk about symptoms.
Right now my worst symptom is itching (aside from the appearance). The itching seems to be concentrated to the areas where the cysts are clustered together most densely, so I am thinking that the skin is just irritated from the pressure, stretching, etc.
One of the most interesting things about this to me is that the cysts grow in clearly defined zones of my scrotum. They don't cover the entire surface. For example, there is a straight line about an inch wide that runs from the base of the shaft of my penis all the way down to the back of my scrotum that has never had a cyst. Also, the top 1/3 of my scrotum is clear. I have never had them on my penis. My point is that they appear to be specifically restricted to certain areas. Now, I normally wear boxers, and they basically just let my scrotum hang freely, and I have noticed that the areas that seem to have the most dense covering of cysts are also the parts of my scrotum that sometimes rubs between my thighs when I walk. I also do encounter moisture in my general groin area when I sweat. I don't know if these things effect the frequency or not, but it is probably a combination of these (and other) factors.
Is anyone aware of any physicians that are treating this condition with any kind of serious scientific approach? "Cut them out" doesn't tell us anything about the cause. My doctor tested my cholesterol when she found out about them, but it came back normal, and she didn't have any other ideas. It seems like many people (myself included) are often too embarrassed by the condition to bring it up, or they just ignore it, so it probably does not get the kind of recognition that it should as a common ailment, and therefore not much is known about it.
I personally would be willing to restrict my diet, or try a supplement program to try to get some answers, but I have no idea what to try aside from what I have read here.
Anyway, long-winded post. Keep your chin up and post any ideas you have.
