I have a friend who is taking this medicine and it makes her sleep a lot. It also causes her to do things that she doesn't remember doing. A month ago dhs removed her 2 little boys saying that they had unexplained briuses. Could this medicine have caused her to hit on them and her not be able to remember? She has bipolar disorder. Could she be on the wrong medicine or dosage? Thank you for your help.
Seroquel is very well known for its sleeping effects, it makes one sleep a lot, it has nothing to do with wrong drugs or dosages. Most of the side effects that may appear with this drug go away once the body gets used to it but sleepiness, on the other hand, is there to stay as long as the person takes the drug. They may also suffer from hang-over once they wake up but the hangover effect subsides with time.
Another side effect is not caring much about stuff and forgetfulness has been reported but I am not sure if it would make her mind blank like you are saying.
The children could have hit themselves when playing as well.
You or she or somebody from the family should talk to her doctor and check with him/her if they think that the drug has positive effects on your friend and see if the benefits she is having actually outweigh this bad side effects.
