I’ve heard that Serrapeptase is great natural anti-inflammatory. Can you tell me more about that? Are there some other useful functions for Serrapeptase?
Hi. Indeed, Serrapeptase is one of the best natural anti-inflammators around. It is a proteolytic enzyme, which is isolated from the non-pathogenic enterobacteria Serratia E15. Serrapeptase prevents swelling and fluid retention in various tissues, and its anti-inflammatory effects are superior to many other proteolytic enzymes. Serrapeptase is not only anti-inflammatory substance, but works quite well in reducing the pain, because it is capable of blocking the release of pain-inducing amines. That is the reason why some physicians use Serrapeptase as an alternative to salicylates, ibuprofen, and other NSAIDs. Other fields in which Serrapeptase could be of great importance include treatment of fibrocystic breast disease, chronic sinusitis; combined with antibiotics, it increases concentrations of the antimicrobial agents. Preventing plaque build-up is another one of possible functions of Serrapeptase, but further studies have to be carried out to prove it.
