I have been experiencing severe pain for almost 6 years now. It started out on my lower right pelvic area. It would wake me up from sleeping. I have been to every doctor you could imagine. They did surgery to see if I had endometriosis, but could not find anything. They removed my appendix and said it was probably that. This was two years after pain had started. The pain never went away it just started getting worse. They replaced my hip on the right side and said it was the problem. The pain has not gone away. It is only getting worse. It usually starts about a week to two weeks before I get my period. They took my gallbladder and said that was the cause of the pain. They were completely wrong again. The pain affects me to be able to urinate and have bowel movements. The gastro Doctors can not find anything with all the many test and proceeded I have done. The urologist can not find anything. MRIS, ctscans, x-rays, ultrasounds, blood work, and the list goes on has not uncovered anything. I am currently working with pain management and they have implanted a trial spine stimulator to see if it is my back. It works for the low back pain , but does nothing for this extreme pain in the pelvic area. I have tried every pain medication, muscle relaxer, bladder spasm, anti inflammatory medication possible and nothing helps to even dull the pain. Heat makes it worse and ice doesn't do much. I am on the hard floor most of the nights in agonizing pain. Stretching doesn't even help. Accupuncture has not helped. It is hard driving, sitting and lying down when the pain comes on. It will subside for a short time and come back in full vengeance. The only thing every month is I pray I start my period so all the pain will go. So if anybody is experience this and has any other ideas on what it might be, please share. I never thought in my life the pain could get this bad and I have I high tolerance. This one is winning.

Hi,
I experience something very similar, around 8-10 days before my period starts. During that tie, I throw up several times as well, and only when the stomach is empty the pain reduces. The doctors say it is gastricitis or oeasophagitis, but then why does it have to happen only during those defined days is beyond me. The rest of the month I am completely fine. This has affected by day to day life; during that time I am unable to sit, stand, sleep or practically do any activity, not even go to work. Nothing comes up in the various medical tests. Have you found a solution to your problem?

for the past 8 months now I've experienced a similar type of pain. About 7-10 days before menstruating, a massive pain will begin in the center of my abdomen--as if I'm in some sort of intestinal distress. Once this pain caused me to throw up. I've begun to recognize the signs of the onslaught of a "pain attack" and immediately swallow 1-2ibuprofen. This generally helps, but if I don't take the ibuprofen soon enough, the following day I'll still be sore. I know this is my uterus--I can feel it clenching. I'm quite sure that I have endometriosis, although no gynecologist has ever said this word to me. In the past, I've had an ovarian cyst, and a fibroid or two. I would consider surgery, but I've been to over 4 different gynecologists in the past 10 years and none of them really seem thoroughly knowledgeable and trustworthy. I am very healthy, and have become increasingly careful about my diet. Western medicine is so ignorant of women's issues. The only brief relief I've experienced is from a Korean "Qi Gong" therapist. Not sure why a $90 Qi Gong therapy treatment can heal me but a $350 gynecologist is utterly useless, offers no explanation and no cure other than removal of my uterus and (why not?) one of my ovaries to go with.

Since last summer I found this website and for the first time I felt I was not alone in the world with these crazy symptoms I suffer every month. I have read many times each case hoping to find and answer to alliviate the severe pain, but I haven't found it here. I have experienced almost all of those symptoms 10 days before my period for 3 years already. I just talked with my doctor last week and he said it may be because of the fybromialgia I have, it worsen the PMS. Hope this diagnosis can help others and talk to your doctor about it. Let me know if you find a way to lessen the pain.

Hi! I have the same issue as you do. About a week - 10 days prior to my period, I wake up in the middle of the night with excruciating abdominal pain that almost seems like a form of constipation. Sometimes my gas pills help..any idea what it could be?

Because of the timing you know it is most likely ovulation pain. I never experienced it that I remember before I had my tubes tied a few years ago I'm surprised they never mentioned it to you because that's what my OB-GYN said right away it's called middle schmerge and all you can do is take hormones aka birth control or just some ibuprofen during that time. I've been researching some natural remedies and have heard things like primrose oil helps but I have yet to try it .

This describes my situation exactly. I am taking a daily oral contraceptive and maybe this is the cause, I've never had this kind of pain before I started taking them. I don't know what to do, I dread the week before my period each month

I have the same issues. It wasn't until a pelvic prolapse and lots of research that it's due in part from a tilted uterus. A uterus that titls backward putting pressure on making it hard to "go". Also cause severe gas cramp. Good Lord the things I wish I had known 10 years ago.
