I thought it was jus me goin mad. I don't know if i'm the only one from the UK but its still comforting knowing i'm not alone.

I started suffering panic/anxiety attacks when I was about 9 years old and had all types of scans and tests but came back normal like everyone else. Suffered up until I was about 14 then it eased off till last augaust. Back came the panic attacks with the constant nausea. Then in march I was in lots of pain after a night out. After visisting the Dr and having an endoscopy they discovered a hiatus hernia which they said was causing my problems. The medication they gave me only made it worse. So am now awaiting blood test results.

I know that i suffer from emetophobia which is a fear of vomiting. And have been advised to try hypnotherapy. I am hopefully going to see someone in the coming month.

I'm glad other people know what i'm going through because this has cost me my girlfriend and social life. For a 21 year old this no life.

I am so sad upon reading about what you have feel.... Have you tried about a natural remedy for your illness... I think you should try the FOOT REFLEXOLOGY while your medication is going on..... Many of us won't believe about it foot reflexology or hand reflexology, just try it and it will help a lot.

You all might want to ask your doctors about something called cyclic vomiting syndrome or abdominal migraine. I have it and it started when I was about 12. I was nauseous all the time and couldn't eat, and ended up going through the whole slew of medications with no effect. Then I started to get this periodic crippling stomach pain. I'd have the pain for about two days and would be vomiting once an hour. It led to increased anxiety and I'd almost have panic attacks precipitating the stomach attacks because I knew the pain was coming and i was going to have to ride out the storm. I got all the tests and nothing came up abnormal. By chance, I happened to cross paths with a doc that knew about abdominal migraines or CVS. He prescribed Cyproheptadine and since then, I haven't had any attack and only periodic nausea and indigestion!

Hey, I don't ever reply to these kinds of things but I had to this time. I have been dealing with nauseua and anxiety since I was about 5. I missed a lot of school, had lots of blood test, and lots of sickness. I was always very skinny. At about eight I was going to have an upper and lower GI done, but stopped for an x-ray and found out it was my bowels. I still deal with being neasous and the anxiety. I can even tell you the naseua only last about an hour at a time, I don't throw up. I also get headaches and very bad pains anywhere from my chest down. I too also have lengths of time where it does not bother me. The doctor said I might have IBS. and i know it sounds silly and little but it can really be miserable. I hope this helps

its very comforting to know that im not alone in the world, i feel constantly sick and am tired of being isolated from the outside world because i am to sick or because of my 'anxiety' and 'depression'. I got sick at the end of my senior year of high school, i lost my job, connection with friends and schooling because i am forced to stay in the house. I go to 3 different doctors and soon to a specialist (endo specialist) to help me. I have been sick for almost 5 months now with nausea everyday, and i read how some of you have lived with it for years, its just so dishearting and i feel for you. I sit wondering if it will ever leave, and since my doctors are so qued into the fact that i am so depressed i am causing myself to be nauseaited, bugs me alot. I have never been intensely depressed or had anxiety, we all have moments but that is life. Without nausea, i do not have either one of those. I get frustrated because i ask for an anti nausea and get depressants/anxiety meds, which i refuse to take because it makes me feel catatonic/high. i tell my doctors and they tell me thats whats supposed to happen, i refuse to live like that. I just wanted to know, did anyone get diagonsed with anything besides anxiety and depression. I got diagnosed with GERD (gastroesophogal reflux disease) and all they give me is acid reflex medicine, that doesnt help at all with the nausea.

What would be the best kind of anti nausea to ask my endo for, that i can take to eliminate nausea.

What other steps can i do to help reduce the nausea? ex. losing weight, smaller meals. any ideas?

i need my life back :[ before i become institutionalized to my house.
thanks.

Just to update anyone who's interested. Found out the pain in my abdoman was a muscular strain which really annoyed me as my Dr did not once check if it was muscular. Currently going through a rehabilitation program with a physio. Still got the nausea and am trying to figure out if this is linked to the muscle strain but can't seem to find out. So if anyone knows if the two could be linked could you please let me know

For anybody who is having panic/anxiety attacks I strongly recommend seeing a hypnotherapist, I did and I feel so much better.

fortunately for you, i know whats wrong
all of you have a parasite in your gut, normal tests always show up negative and you wont be able to fight them off because your body simply thinks the parasite is a part of you...
you could have one, you could have more...
certain antibiotics are quite effective, but have a lot of side effects.. so if you're prepared to suffer just a bit more, you can get rid of them...

My daughter has suffered from stomach migraines for the past 6+ years. It is basically a migraine headache, but instead of the headache or the sensitivity to light being the main symptoms, the vomiting is the first thing to show up. It's a miserable illness that can debilitate a person from 2 to 5 days on the average during an episode. After trying "many" drugs to ease or cure the symtoms the doctor prescribed a propananol drug called Inderal 30mg 3 times a day. This year she has had approximately 4 episodes versus over 60 missed days of school last year!! A big difference!!! The doctors say kids usually grow out of it by their early 20's. Good Luck and i hope this helps!!

Just a little update.

After months and months of not knowing what was wrong with me, I finally got my answer. After going to a gastro specialist we were able to figure out what was wrong after 2 months. He first started giving me all this different medication for nausea and it was making me worse. I was having bad reactions to the medication and was just not getting any better. The anxiety was getting worse as well because my stomach issues were out of control and I felt like it was taking over my life. My Dr decided to do an endoscopy and colonoscopy and found out I had a bacterial infection. I had what is called H-pylori and I had it for several months. If it goes untreated, it can cause so many other problems. It caused gastritis as well and I was on my way to ulcers. After finally knowing what I had was such a relief. I was put on an intense treatment of meds with this stuff called prevpac. It is the main treatment given for H-pylori. Its like over 2000mg of amoxicillin a day and its pretty hardcore. It left me feeling so sick but I knew I had to take it to get better. Like most females, I ended up having a bad allergic reaction to the large amount of antibiotics. I broke out in hives and had to go to the hospital and had to immediately stop taking the prevpac. Fortunately the 6 days of intense medication was able to kill off the

h-pylori and I have been almost 100% since. I have been able to eat, I put back on weight, and I am not longer constantly feeling nauseous. The anxiety also is not as bad any more. I still have stomach issues every once and a while and I now watch what I eat. Sometimes I have moments where I think I might be sick again, but it turns out being just an upset / sour stomach. I found out that most times, the doctors do not test for the H-pylori strain right away. Sometimes you have to actually request that they test for that. I hope that everyone is able to find out what is going on with their stomachs and are able to find a solution so that you all can feel normal again and not sick all the time. I would never wish any of this upon anyone and can always relate to anyone having similar problems like I had experienced.

Oh my god, I am so glad to have found a whole bout of people who are experiencing the same thing I am. I only read the first two pages but the Original Post sounded like exactly what I had. I started having constant nausea since the winter of 5th grade (10 or 11 I think) I had just gotten my period, braces, and the stomach flu almost all in the same two weeks. needles to say, I had lost A LOT of weight. I used to be chubby and now I'm much skinnier.
Since then (I'm 14 now) I've had constant nausea (never vomiting) and headaches and sometimes I reach a point where I feel like if this is the way I have to go through life I don't want to deal with it anymore. I only told my mom about this about a year or more after it happened and I was taken to the doctor, and was prescribed Ranitadine 150mg. It helps I guess but I still feel nauseous all of the time. I've been diagnosed with GERD but I really don't think that's what it is because the medicine I'm taking isn't helping. My mom thinks it's related to my period, but I don't think so since it happens year round all the time. It's gotten so bad that I had to be taken to the ER but they just said it was nothing. Sometimes I can't eat and end up getting so hungry I feel even more nauseous.
Over the summer, it gets better and it often helps me to be distracted so I can't think about my stomach. I have a gastrointerologist appointment in a few weeks and I really hope I can get some relief.

Thanks for reading :)

Hello all, I have some ideas which I hope can help some of you!

I am a 20 yr old female with a lot of chronic stomach problems that started when I was 18. I experience chronic nausea, severe pain, bloating, ect... western medicine has been unable to explain my condition. My ultrasound and blood tests have shown nothing. After a endoscopy, I was diagnosed with gastroporisis but the meds for that did not help. Finally, I saw a naturopath and she gave me a blood test for food intolerances. I came up positive for things like eggs, dairy, wheat, soy, and more. Cutting these things out of my diet helped, but I still dealt with painful symptoms daily. Here are two things that I think are really important to look into if you suffer from nausea and stomach pain:

First, if you are a women on hormonal birth control, stop! Myself and a few others I know have had our stomach problems start recently after beginning BC, and estrogen has been linked to allergies. Even if stopping BC doesn't immediately end the stomach pain, at least you can stop the damage from continuing. My western doctors haven't supported this theory, but I am convinced that the BC pill triggered all of my issues.

Second, please look into N.A.E.T treatment! It is an acupuncture/acupressure technique that identifies and treats you for foods that your body doesn't react well to. In the first appointment, you are tested for sensitivities to a wide variety of food groups, and then at each appointment, you are treated for one group. I am currently undergoing this treatment, and I swear that it is the first thing that has been able to ease my pain yet. I was really really skeptical at first, because frankly the treatment sounds unbelievable. I still don't understand how it works, but I do know that for the first time in years I am able to carry on with day to day life. I think everyone should give this a try, since it is all natural, there is really nothing to lose and everything to gain! Even if you don't think you have a food intolerance... this is worth a shot!

I had the same thing. Its called Helicobacter Pylori Infection. H. Pylori infection. Tell your doctor to test your blood for H. pylori. You can also have a stool test for H. pylori. Usually it is done by a gastrointerologist. You will take a triple regimen of antibiotics to cure it.
It is also known as ulcer disease.

I have a 19 year old son who has been complaining for several years of upper abdominal pain just right of center. He is hurting all the time and dispises vomiting so much he tries to "keep" it from happening. He has refused to leave to the house for 2 years and has no friends. Since spring, he went from 200 lbs. to 140! He finished all his high school credits at home but cant get his diploma because he wont go and sit at the exit exam testing center. He wont take pills but was given prilosec several years ago and takes them infrequently. He feels anything thats not all natural has side effects and will be addicting. He had a CT scan last year and they said his gall bladder locked abnormal and to come back in year and they would repeat the test and go from there. This has turned him against modern medicine and he will not return to the Dr. After he turned 18 I allowed him to smoke pot to ease the pain . This seems to help him eat and ease the pain. But, if he doesn't have any, he says he cant eat and is in pain. He is depressed and lonely and feels everyone hates him.. It is heartbreaking and exhausting. I lost my job in june and money is not available. This isn't life. He deserves and needs to be part of the life around him but, he's stuck here in the house, alone except for me... Suggestions???

Alissa23...what mg dose are you prescribed for celexa? I also was prescribed this medication but it was a very low dose (only 10 mg) and I'm thinking of upping it at my next appointment because I have not noticed any improvement in my symptoms (chronic nausea, vomiting, stomach pain)
