I have had a severe sore throat for about four days now- I have no fever at all, and had my tonsils removed 7 years ago. Ever since my tonsilectomy I have never had strep or mono again ( although prior to that I had one or the other for a year solid). I have rarely had mild throat pain at all- and that was usually due to sinus. But I am in severe pain can't swallow, cough, sneeze, yawn without extreme pain- and I am even having difficulty breathing because of it- all I can manage are sallow breaths-and I cannot tell of any noticeable swelling because of my lack of tonsils. Any help would be appreciated....
