Thank you all for posting on this topic. I have had bad stomach, abdomen, cramping and back pain. It came on after lunch last week and has barely let up. There is a bug going around here where I am, but I am not so sure that is what it is. The Doc does not know but is not yet convinced blood work and other tests need to be done. She has me on Cipro 2x daily. We shall see if that does it.
The cramps come and go and have had me in tears a couple times. I have bad back pain from top to bottom and comes and goes. Not sure if that is attributed to trying to relieve the abdomen pain and being in different positions or if it is related to what is going on internally. I also have bloating after eating even if I eat very little.
I have no fever. I'm not over eating or eating fatty or greasy foods. When I feel diarrhea cramps coming on, I run to bathroom and can hardly get anything out. It is like I am constipated as well.
This is getting to a point where I am worried about not being able to have it diagnosed and it continuing long term. I am going on vacation in two weeks and canceling or changing plans is going to be catastrophic on the wallet.
Not sure what to do. I am not at home to see my doctor or go to emergency room down the street. I am working abroad and the doctors are spread thin and facilities are few and far between.
There are so many things it can be. I guess we will see about the Cipro helping. If it does not kick in in about two or three days, it is probably not an infection. If it is IBS, what can I do? I already eat pretty well and exercise regularly (until the pain)...

Good Lord!!!!! Most of you have pancreatitis and dont know it. Doctors never check for lipase and amallyse levels unless you ask them too. If yall ever come back (i noticed this is a year ago) and this happens again, please get your amalyse and lipase checked if you have to go to hospital!!!!!

Wow... Appendicitis doesn't go on for months...it's very acute. If he'd had appendicitis for that long he'd have been dead. Usually the appendix ruptures after a few hours of starting to hurt around the navel and that would have killed him within hours.
