My daughter is seven years old and has a bad cold, which my doctor says is bronchitis. At this point, I am not so sure that I agree it is bronchitis. The doctor wants to prescribe amoxicillin to my daughter. Personally, I like to avoid any kind of antibiotics. Should I go for the amoxicillin? Are there any side effects of amoxicillin in children?
Of course there are always potential side effects with any medication and amoxicillin is no different. I have never had any problems with amoxicillin myself, and I have taken it several times. But it must be different for children, and I don't think you are being overly cautious. If you are not sure your daughter has what the doctor says she has, you are probably doing the right thing in waiting.
