mother had knee replacement on 10/6. Has a red quarter sized spot which is tender. Not incision related. Has seen infection specialist and has undergone three bouts of antibiotic treatment with no result. She says the knee feels "tight" when she walks. Could there be fluid? What type of test could be done to see if there is something under skin, or if there is fluid? Docs do not think it is an infection.

I just underwent elbow surgery. After 2 weeks my incision is perfect but I have a quarter sized red spot that looks to be scabbing. It feels like a burn. It has been tender and kind of burning. It's not near the incision. How did your Mom's end up?
