I am 55, had spinal fusion in 2003 and contracted MRSA in the hospital, in 2005 they removed all the titanium they could, left a couple of pins from the cage in my spine, I didn't get rid of MRSA until 2007. I have had health problems ever since, the latest is now the skin on both of my legs from the ankle to about six inches above the ankle is turning blackish. It is also dry and tightening and a bit painful, I am also getting cuts on that area very easily, just today I dropped a little cardboard box, a cube with 3 inch sides, the edges were not sharp, I dropped it from about waist high, I just lost my grip, when it fell it hit my ankle, I was wearing boat shoes with no socks, the little box actually gave me a one inch slice above my ankle, looked like it was cut with a knive, it wasn't real deep, but more than deep enough to cause it to bleed and leave me with yet another scar. If I brush up against a piece of furniture, or anything, I don't even realize it most of the time, I just find my legs all cut up and bleeding. The cuts that have healed over leave a pinkish scar, they are not the blackish color. The pain is not horrible, but I am on methadone for the pain from my spine, I walked with a 45 degree slant of my spine, I am 55 walking like 95. Since I am on pain medication for my spine, I assume the pain would be much worse in my legs otherwise. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this, I have to see my neurosurgeon, and another doctor for high blood pressure, bone degeneration, etc etc. I am on disability and I only have medicare, I am being drowned by medical bills, if I had any money I would see a dentist (I need dentures), not another doctor, unless someone thinks this could be serious, it has been like this for months now.
