My husband was diagnosed with Chron’s disease 15 years ago and as the disease progressed more and more of his small and large intestine literally got destroyed by inflammation. He had two surgeries that removed destroyed parts and he is now scheduled to have third surgery that will leave him with just a small portion of his large bowel and his GI doctor told us that the surgeon will most likely remove the remaining parts of his small intestine. The only part that will stay is his small bowel and since it’s hard to talk about this and not get to emotional, I’d appreciate any info on this type of surgery.
