Hello! I have been on vicodin for quite some time. I tried cold turkey, of course it didn’t work. That was the first time I tried to get rid of it and I didn’t know about the severity of withdrawals. The main reason I wanted to do it on my own is that there aren’t any clinics near my home, so it would be a drag to go to the city every time. | heard that there are physicians now who can prescribe soboxone as the treatment of opioid addiction. Does anybody know more about it? Thx heaps!

What you heard is right. There is a Drug Abuse Treatment Act, I think from the year 2000. The act allows physicians to treat addicts with Subutex and Suboxone in the privacy of their office. There could be inpatient or outpatient treatment. But when looking for the right physician, you need to make sure that they have complete the instructional course on the protocol for Office-based Opioid Treatment given by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. I am sure you can find a physician for your area online. Good luck!
