i have a sore throat for months it wont go away at all. i have taken antibiotics, cold medicine, etc but nothing helps. i have been to doctor and he says there's nothing to worry about but it's still there and it's bugging me. it's not painful and there's no cough, but my throat is always scratchy and I feel like clearing my throat a lot. sometimes my right ear gets blocked as well, but my left ear is fine. i dont have any allergies or sinus problems that i know of either. It doesn't hurt but it's been there for so long there has to be some reason and I'm just sick of it.
Can anyone tell me what could be the reason?

Hi, was reading this old post of yours and wondered if you ever got a good answer? I have had a scratchy throat for weeks so I started poking around the internet to try and find a possible cause. Best as I can tell it probably is allergies. Never had allergy problems when I was young and had a strong immune system. But now that I am older I know I have been prone to other types of allergic reactions, but this scratchy throat thing is new. I haven't had a cold or flu lately either. Well if you ever get this message, I hope you found a cure:)
