I recently had unprotected sexual intercourse with a female about a month ago. I got sick for a week with fever. It wasn't getting any better so I got medication for it. I was given azithromycin for 5 days. I definitely got better. After I finished my prescription I felt a lot better. Within a day or so I began to get a sore throat on one side with a mild sense of nausea, a slight fever, and a feeling of being weak. I also got enlarged lymph node on one side of my groin and my neck. It is to the point where if I turn my neck it would hurt. I have had this sore throat for over a week now. I'm back on azithromycin. I don't feel it is helping now. I'm really worried this can be an early symptom of hiv. Please advise.

Everybody gets sore throats even persistent ones.
Swollen glands on the neck and groin are everyday common illnesses accompanyed by fever, headache feeling achy and feeling tired.
It is impossible to know if your at risk of hiv by these symptons you should book an appointment for a test in a few weeks.
Refrain from unprotected sex until you get your result.
You should wait the very least 4 weeks after possible exposure to the virus to get tested ideally 3 months and for 100% accuracy another test after 6 months from having unprotected sex with a stranger.
