I fell down the stairs 2 years ago and was diagnosed with spontaneous intracranial hypertension. I was told the problem would go away but never has. Not many Dr.'s seem to have answers for me. Does anyone know more about this? I can elaborate if necessary.
Hi, Just curious .... are you suffering from hypertension or hypotension. I was diagnosed as Spontaneous intercranial HYPOtension. I have a headache almost constantly. I didn't fall down the stairs but I had a rearend auto accident. That I had an MRI done but came up with nothing. I had another MRI done 2 years later because of a headache that was accompanied with nausea and vomiting. The vomiting was so severe that I couldn't even keep down the medicines that I was taking for the pain. I was hospitalized for dehydration at which time they also did a spinal tap. Findings were the low pressure. I have not found anyone that can tell me what I can do. I need to work but I'm afraid that I relapse with the headaches. The only thing that is different between the first MRI I had and the next 3 MRI's were the menigeal enhancement. Which was only found thru haveing the MRI done with Gaddilium/Contrast. But the first MRI was not done with Contrast so we don't know how far back the menigeal enhancement goes back. If you have found any further information I would be very appreciative for you to share with me.

My son has a constant headache for over 3 years now, with burning nerves in his face and scalp on top. It drives him mad. He has been a couple of times on a caffeine drip which apparently helps with this type of headache. Before starting caffeine medication he is going in to have a dye injected into his spinal fluid and will then be monitored to see if the dye spreads upwards into the scalp. Apparently very high dosages of caffeine help these types of headaches. Good luck

have they tried an epidural blood patch (google it). They can do it in the cervical vertebrae and it can relieve SIH if the caffeine drip and other methods don't work. Good luck.
