You can test as soon as 2, preferably 3, weeks after having sex. Spotting or not.
Use your first morning - wakeup - urine for best results. Good luck.

It takes time for the hormones the test looks for to rise high enough, 2-3 weeks. Test when your period is due if you aren't certain. If still no period about 7-10 days later, retest.
If it is "spotting" it usually occurs about a week before your period would be due and is very light, no pad needed.
