I Have Steatocystoma Multiplex Teatments
Hi all, I have had SM for roughly 15 years now and I am now ready to do something about it.
I have been in talks with a company in Seoul, Korea who say they have treated over 500 cases. I have sent them photo's of my condition and they have ran through time frames, costings and some knowledge of previous patience.
They said from the photo's that i have roughly 500 cysts on my chest, they can do around 100-150 per sitting. It costs $20US which is a lot of money but I am willing to do it.
It is a big decision and im not going to jump straight in without doing a little research.
I would like to know if anyone has had this procedure or knows of anyone that has? at the end of the day the decision will come down to how it looks with the scarring as opposed to just being left alone and have nothing done at all.

I think its good if we all share our information, hopefully between us we can come up with something that works, as it seems most of the derms are not willing to try anything.

I have tried the CO2 laser. I didnt worked, plus you got a bad scar instead. Dont waste your money to get something more visible than the cyst. I went to see another dermatologist to ask about Erbium laser, and she said it is the same thing. It wont work.
For acupuncture, I have enormous doubt for that thing to work especially against this disease which is totally genetic and metabolic. But you can try and let us know how it goes.

I too have this condition. Whenever they ripen I remove the ones on my chest. I notice that at times they dry up and disappear but they always reappear. I have learnt to deal with it and just live my life. I wish everyone that experiences this condition all the very best. Don't be disheartened you are still you.

As far as I know there is no long lasting treatment. They grow back, mine have been going and coming for years now. I just accept it and live with it. I go to the beach and remove my shirt and go about my regular business. You are still you.

Hello Jenny! I also suffer with SM condition and I reallu loved your article. Have you tried any of the treatment options? I've been to MGH Hospital in Boston and they told me to try smoothbeam laser also. The problem is that I live in Brazil and it would take a time to complete the whole process. I just found this clinic in Seoul, Korea and the doctor said the same to me, but I love in Brazil and it would be too far for me to travel to the other side of the world. Where do you live? I know thay use a BLADE and a FORCEPS to take off the cysts. I have done a research with the name of the disease and these 2 words and I found an article by an University in Ohio- USA saying the do this! I sent them an email.

Hello there! Your post was, for me, one of the best ones I've read! Thanks for taking the time to write and share it with us. I live in Brazil and suffer from the same condition. I also travelld to Boston and saw dermatologists from Harvard who told me to try the Smoothbeam laser. As I live in here, I would have to move to the US. What you said about doctors who have WILL to help is the biggest TRUE. A lot of them are just lazy! That's it! I'm trying to find out which is the best needle to extract th cysts to tell it to my dermatologist in Brazil. After thir removal, does your doctor prescribe any medication to avoid infecction?
I also have a lot of post infecctions scars and I'm willing to do something to improve thir appearance, I feel very ashamed of them and dont know how to treat. Do you have any email? How is you treatment going?

Hey, how is your treatment going? Let me ask you, when you tak off th cysts, dont you take of the cyst wall? You just pinch them and squeeze them? They dont get infeccted or leave scars???? Thanks for aswering!!

Hi Priscilla, I live in Australia. I'm not going to have this treatment. I had around 15 cut out a few months ago which worked quite well, but It was $500 and with 15 cut out you can not notice one bit of difference as I have many so I will stop that. I have had some where I have just popped like a pimple with a needle and drained the puss out of. I know you are meant to take the cyst wall out as well but the ones i have done it on have not refiled. I had some laser treatment at the start of the year which was a disaster. very painful and I am still left with red marks all over my chest. I should have known what the laser clinic was telling me was too good to be true. For me Im going to wait and hopefully the red marks will disappear. From there I think I might just try poking them with a needle and draining them, I will start with a small area and see how it goes. I hope by doing it this ay it will reduce scarring and I can only hope that they don't refill. Would be good to stay in touch and swap ideas with each other.
