I've been on Suboxone for 4 months and have successfully tapered down to 1/4 of a 2mg pill a day. My goal is to get to 1/4 every other day and then eventually go off of it; however, I'm prepared to stay on this for awhile longer. My doctor is really great and seems to be upfront about everything. My addiction to opiates didn't develop overnight and it's not going to go away overnight. Yes, these friggin pills are expensive as hell. I'm lucky my husband was cool about everything and has been extremely supportive. We couldn't afford me going into an in-patient facility, so this really saved my life.
