Good morning All
I am a mother of 2 and is 33 years of age, i woke up the one morning with the same symptoms, if it is not my feet swelling up and itching it is my fingers. My tongue has swollen up 3 times now, with today being the 3rd time. I wake up with all these strange things and this scares me. When my feet swell it feels as if i am walking on a ball under my skin. My fingers get a burning sensation and swell up 2 x it's normal size. My tongue swells on either side and once the swelling goes down it is sore. I have a massive headache and feel tired all the time. How can this not be explained. Please if there is anyone who knows what causes these symptoms please let me know.

Are you still having these issues? They seem to be very similar to what I am dealing with. Have you gotten any answers?

My husband has suffered from this for several years and all my "research" has led me to the sad conclusion that doctors/allergists have no good explanation or cure just the generalized term of angioedema. Somewhere someone mentioned having dental work (cavity or extraction) and this helped with their symptoms so we followed that lead. Low and behold my husband had some work done and his symptoms went away for years!! Last night he had a flare up, classic symptoms of lip mega swelling, facial swelling, random hives on body and now he has also has scrotal swelling. He had been experiencing slight cold symptoms and low and behold he had an appt today to have 3 small cavities filled! I hope and pray this may have some correlation as this is such a hopeless disease. He is a healthy 54 year old, non smoker, occasional light drinker, healthy weight and very physically fit. He does have high blood pressure for which he takes lisinopril. I'm just trying to give some details because I know how good it felt when we found others that experienced the same. Although there doesn't seem to be a cure it is comforting to know that there are many others that suffer the same. Maybe the more light we make of the subject some research can be done because in this day and age it's crazy to believe that there is no explanation. This really can mess with your sanity and also interferes with activities of daily living! Who wants to go to work looking deformed :(. Keep sharing everyone maybe you've found something that has helped you:)

Thanks for your post. I suffer the same symptoms, almost exactly. I am taking antihistamine, but I'm not convinced and only take it as there is no alternative. I seem to have had attacks more frequently over this last year, I am 59 and otherwise healthy.
I haven't tried the dental option, but I will look into it.
Thanks again!

Sounds like hives to me and your allergic to something, once both my brothers lips swelled up because of some sort of allergic reaction to salt, some sort of salt anyway, that's what they said and it hasn't happened since so possibly he was eating too many salty snacks (he loves his snacks lol), do you like to eat snacks that may have a higher salt content in them?, you may be ingesting too much salt and can create an allergic type reaction.

Am experiencing all of these right now. Please help with a remedy, I'm totally deformed.

If you break out like that you should really go to emergency part of the hospital because your at risk of it closing up the throte, like people who are allergic to peannuts, try laying off salty snacks and putting salt on your food because as i said eating too much salt can cause an allergic-like reaction, trust me, my bros lips were like balloons, although he STILL eats a lot of snacks with a lot of salt but i don't think as much because i noticed he leaves half packets of salty crisps in the cupboard uneaten.

I have had similar experience with my gp when I told her about the unexplained swelliing in various parts of my body. First it was both hands and very painful, then at another time my left leg but no pain another my tongue no pain then last week both my tongue and throat again no pain but I was gasping for air.

Has been happening to me for years! Googled my symptoms occasionally and came across your post. The itch and then swelling right away started with my lips. Then my eyes. Now my hips tops of my feel and inside of my wrists. Sometimes the back of my head now as well. I take Zyrtec and it brings the itch and swelling down almost immediately to within a half hour unlike Benadryl that only took the itch away and I was swollen until the next day. I take it every other day or I will itch and swell almost like clock work. I thought it was milk and dairy products but I'm lactose free now and it still happens. I have never been able to pin point any flare up. My only advice is Zyrtec no one can tell me what it is either.

I am also concerned with my husbands symptoms that come and go. It starts with one side of his tongue swelling and within a day the bottom of his foot itches and has a swollen spot like walking on a ketchup packet. He is 50 in good health other than slightly overweight. I have found nothing even close other than these messages. I would really appreciate a reply if anyone gets an answer.
