My husband has suffered with random lip, face, wrist, feet, buttocks swelling for over a year now. He has never had allergies. It would come out of nowhere...usually middle of the night. After months of research, I truly believe he has a histamine intolerance. You should look into it!!! It cannot be diagnosed by a doctor, but they can test your DAO levels (an enzyme that breaks down histamine). Long story short, your body always produces histamine, and if it cannot break down those histamines quick enough....this will cause your swelling, headaches, itching..... symptoms of an allergic reaction. There are many ways you treat it without expensive tests. More vitamin C and B6, avoiding foods high in histamine etc. Seriously though....look into it. Hope you feel better soon!

I have the same symptoms now. I have been trying to deal with psoriasis for the past 10 years. I changed my diet significantly roughly 8 months ago (gundry diet) and lost 25 pounds (back to 160lbs, 49 yo white male). I added a few things back and took out a few things. I though it was an egg allergy. But, the symptoms just returned again and i have been religious about avoiding eggs. Well, it obviously isnt eggs. It always starts with severe acute itching, hot areas, then it swells and lasts about a day or two. It seems to be worse if i scratch it. I can feel the energy inside by body at the spots i dont itch and it is very uncomfortable. It seems to be triggered by work related stress or family stress. I actually had a really bad dream and woke up with my hand itchy then the swelling came back. I find that sleep and relaxing on the couch for a day makes it go away. My symptoms hit me in my feet, hands, and wrist mostly. I have even had it on the inside of my legs, up to my balls, and then my scrotum and it swelled all the way up to my unit (sorry for the graphics). I was freaking out when that happened. Luckily, it goes away after 24 hours. Warning, if it itches near your privates, dont scratch as it will make it swell. Take a benedryl and let it pass. I told the doctor all of this and have had blood work done and Echo cardio gram stress test, and they said nothing was wrong with me. Save for the psoriasis which is fairly manageable. I dont take any meds except topical steroids and benedryl when this happens. This is my third such event in 6 months. first event was in June in Costa Rica on a surf trip (lost of stress to get there, then decompression, lots of surf and then it started in my feet, then the infamous balls incident), the second event was in July and August when i thought it was the amount of eggs i ate, I got done surfing and it felt like a bee stung my foot then it went to my wrists. This third time started after getting a bad cold from staying up late at night and stressing myself with work. right hand and feet. After a day or two on the couch i am feeling better. I want to get to the root of this, but it looks like several are in the same boat. Sorry to here it, but glad to see others raising this issue.

I urge everyone with these symptoms to be tested for Alpha-gal this is an allergy caused by a tick bite. I was diagnosed this year and I can no longer eat mammal meat or products from mammals.

Since he has been taking a Zicam once a day for over 2 months....not a single outbreak! It does make him drowsy by afternoon if he takes it in the morning, so he now takes it around noon.

I really think most of the people are suffering from a histamine intolerance. My husband cured his random swellings by taking 1 zicam daily. I doubt many of you have angiodema, lupus, or a tick bite. Give it a try, and you can thank me later. :-)

I start my new job about 3 months ago and it’s a little bit to stressful. Those my old symptoms come back from nowhere. Wake up with the extremely swollen mouth, hands, foot. I had those years ago and at first time my doctor thought that was allergic reaction. It’s proven in my case that is not. When ever I could isolated my self from “Toxic environment” those symptoms would disappear. I am sure that some people can suffer from Angioderma by having it as reaction on virus, some type of food or somethings else. In my case 100 % is stress and it’s always related do job unplasent environment. I am lucky that at least at home I have stress free environment

I have had the same random face and fingertip swelling. Does anyone have any swelling from taking Ibuprofen? I believe that I might have narrowed it down to that. Anyone else see any correlation with that? It seems that I take ibuprofen and 3-5 hours later something random is swelling up. Not all of the time, but more often than not. Thanks.
