My son is 13 years old. He had 3 days off school last week with a temparture, achey limbs, swollen eyes and was sick. He went back to school for 2 days and went downhill again. Went to GP last night who diagnosed viral meningitus and tonsilitus, he had white spots, swollen glands, swollen eyes and sleepy.

Hi Dudley! As you didn't ask any question I guess you're sharing this because it isn't easy  right? Every time our kids get ill we suffer. There's no wayout. I hope your GP made the right diagnose but I didn't understand if your son is in the hospital or did he send you back home? I guess he did also a sample of blood or spinal cord fluid? Everytime you suspect meningitis you have to find what is the cause. Also is important to avoid contamination of brothers/sisters (if he has) and your self, and if he's at home you must be very alert and if you noticed that he is getting any worse go immediately back to the doctor. I hope he recovers soon!
