Both my husband and daughter are complaining on swollen gland in front of their ear. I don’t know what to do with them? Is it possible that they both got infected somehow? What gland is in front of the ear?

The most probable explanation is that the daughter and the husband both suffer from an inflammation of the salivary glands. The parotid glands are the largest salivary glands and they are in front of each ear. If inflamed, the gland can easily swell. Viral infection can be possible cause but bacterial too. Anyway they both need to be exam by professional.

Hi there,
The swollen glands around ears can indicate to several things but most likely your husband and daughter have an ear infection. They both might have caught the same bacteria or virus that is causing an infection in the ear. Have they complained on any pain in ear or maybe ringing in the ear? Interesting thing is that they both have the problem and you are safe for now. But they better treat the infection as soon as possible so it doesn’t spread around the house any more.
Also there is a chance that this might be related to their oral cavity, maybe a bad tooth or some sort of complication with their salivary glands as well might cause the problem.
