I've been dealing with this for a decade. I did an allergy test and it came out that I have a yeast allergy (the main ingredient used to produce all kinds of alcohol) and the colouring they put in wines. When it started it was only one kind of beer, so I switched, then it started happening with all beer. So I went to hard liquor.. it started happening again. I went through the whole list. The only thing I can maybe get away with these days is a good quality vodka or gin distilled more than 4 times. And in extreme moderation. ( like only one or two drinks) but then it's still always on the back of your mind. There is nothing that can help. I just gave up drinking all together. Oh and a tip for anyone sitting at home swollen, looking like quasimodo. Take extra strength advil and go to bed. ( I take 2 or more advil extra strength liquid gels) for me every time I do this, when I wake up the swelling has gone down considerably.

I had the same experience with kettle one this week , first day after waking up I experienced deep throat pain , and I stopped drinking it and I again tried after a week and this time I got a swollen lymph node below my jaw and slight pain in deep throat and started googling it and found this post and this happens to me with kettle one and not with any other whisky or beer

I honestly didn’t drink much until I was 21 and distinctly remember the morning after my 21st party the pain in my lymph nodes under my jaw bone. I could barely lift my chin. When I mentioned it to my dr she laughed at me and said “what you think you’re allergic to drinking?!?” I felt so foolish and was embarrassed. I am now 30 and have FINALLY been diagnosed with Gilbert’s syndrome. After reviewing past blood draws and taking several new ones over a span of time a new doctor was able to identify an abnormally high bilirubin count every single time. She was able to form a diagnosis off of that. You can read about it online but my understanding is enzymes in my liver don’t break things down the same way as most people and it makes me more sensitive to things like alcohol and medication. I would suggest seeing if you have the same markers in your blood work. It was something that had been overlooked by multiple doctors in my case. I have also been diagnosed with dysautonomia And no longer drink because of the dizziness associated with that but I don’t think that condition is what affects my lymph nodes.

I read through the feed and I think I can help. It’s either A: an allergic reaction to the alchohol after binge drinking repeatedly or just sheer bad luck. Or B: your body’s metabolism is being overworked and drinking alchohol would only make it harder on yourself so it’s reacting naturally by sweeping your tonsils. I literally just went through this and still do from time to time (I like to experiment lmao) My symptoms started off with a week long migraine from my eyebrow to my cheek bone only on the right side. Then the tonsils started swelling the very next week. I was an everyday drinker btw. Either Captain or Bud Light. Beer DOES NOT swell my tonsils. Only liquor. Hope it helps
